yeah, no. i made this entirely with 3xOsc in FL Studio.

it just sounds like 3xOsc and bitcrushers, not like 8-bit music. just saying!

HTFR doesn't appear to stock any behringer stuff, which is a shame because the BCF2000 is probably exactly what you need for a pretty decent price.

Well I was just being general with the bozo remark.

He knows a lot of things about music and the way it sounds and how different file compressions and etc. sound.

Good for him.

I agree that the Grados he bought were junk. A cheap pair of headphones he has sounded above and beyond what those headphones could ever achieve. Grados, I'm guessing, is tailored like Bose... no highs, no lows, must be bose.

If you both reckon there's no presence or low-end depth in any Grado headphone I guess you're both a couple of clowns who probably don't have the balls to drop more than $200 on a pair of good cans.

+1 on the SSD. They're not very big unless you want to spend a metric fuckton, but getting one just to install your OS and core software on is well worth the increased performance and long-term stability. You can easily run your plugins off of any drive in FL, so no worries there.

Isn't "mixdown" just a general term for rendering a project to wav nowadays?

Catacomb Abyss and Wolf 3D are a couple of awesome classics, and basically anything that runs on the Build engine will play similarly.

I have a pair of Alessandro MS-Pros'. They're made by Grado and they are fucking unreal. Way better than broken-in AKG K701's imo. Even their lower-end headphones like SR80i's are great for their price range, I've got absolutely no idea where your bro is coming from.

Any bozo can call themself an audiophile.

Response to: Fab-filter Pro-q And Eq Discussion Posted January 16th, 2012 in Audio

A have a bunch of EQs I use for different things. For broad, gentle curves I use Uhbik-Q, for more precise stuff or for removing ringing I just use Fruity Parametric EQ 2. Any master EQ is left to Sonalksis SV-517. I have Voxengo Voxformer for vocals too but I don't use it much due to old habits dieing hard.

As far as Fabfilter plugins go, I've got Timeless 2 and Volcano 2 which are both fantastic but not EQs so hah.

As far as I know this isn't possible. Unless anyone would care to enlighten me?

YES it's very very possible and very easy to do once you know where to look! And where you want to look is right here in the wrapper window. This sends the output from the VST to the channel mixer track + the number in the green part. So in this case, where the BFD2 channel was set to mixer track 10 and BFD2s02 is set to "1", the output from BFDs02 will go to mixer track 11.

You can do this with VST that has multiple outputs, and the resulting output will always be stereo (meaning "mono" VST outputs will be centered stereo and not hard left or right).

It was probably 100 pages of gol and scott explaining that FL's core programming architecture (i.e. Delphi) cannot be ported over to mac, so if they ever do make a mac version they'll need to build the program again from scratch.

The master track has a send knob just like any other track, so select the channel you want to send elsewhere and click the master send knob and it will go away.

Oh cool, Didn't know about that.
For the guy who asked the question, it's File > Tools > Strum in the piano roll, or Alt+S.

Just played with it a bit to figure out how it works. You need to put the chords in first, and it only does one direction at a time. So if you want an alternating up/down pattern you need to separate a sustained chord into your strumming rhythm and then select each part and use the strum tool individually.

imo it's not really worth using, you'll probably have more control and get a more human sounding result just dropping the notes in with snap turned off.

Response to: Ask your FruityLoops questions here Posted January 11th, 2012 in Audio

Strumming

Turning "snap" off will help a lot. Other than that just think about the order that the notes would be player in reality, in relation to the up/down strumming pattern. Staccato and legato are things to think about, too.

Response to: Amplitude Vs. Reg Pedalboard Setup Posted January 10th, 2012 in Audio

Yeah if you're recording in a regular bedroom/office space without good acoustics you could very well be better off using virtual amps and effects.
