It's a 32-bit floating point format, which is a little different to integer formats. Int32LSB is neither here nor there, really.
Basically you have the actual audio data which is 24-bits per sample, in addition to which is a 7-bit exponent for scaling and a 1-bit sign. SUPER basically, it's 24-bit audio with a lot of extra headroom.
ANYWAY I don't know why the 24-bit int option isn't available for you. I guess you might just need to convert it with Audacity :<

Don't be silly. Saying that a piece you made is crap is just that, and who wants to revisit crap anyway? Nothing I made for the first 2 years I was making music is something that I would ever want to remix, remake or even repair. I can't even look at it for inspiration or ideas - to me that's like collecting your own spit in a glass and then drinking it.
How far could you have possibly come if your first song is still better than anything you made long after it? Eventually you just need to forget about your old work. That's what it means to move forward.

whenever i make ambient music it's usually based around polyrhythms or slowly shifting between tone colours within a single synth or effect. i also don't release or even finish many ambient songs cause it's not a genre that i'm great at, just the odd flash of inspiration.

Regular compression is still really useful, though - and all compressors, multiband or not, will impart a different character and feeling to a signal.
I find multiband to be too fiddly for a lot of things, actually. Multiple stages of EQ and (light) compression will give me results which I feel are more than adequate.

done a bit of live sound work which was kinda fun sometimes but mostly unrewarding. played in shitty bands and done shitty gigs, i really can't be arsed to push through the initial (and LONG) self-promotion phase to make it as a successful touring artist. music is fun but when i try to make it intentionally accessible or whatever it becomes un-fun. the chip scene is the most fun i've ever had making music so if i ever do have another attempt at musical success it'll be through chip-related music.
psychology is looking like a much more stable career path, though.

nah but really if you like making music a lot you should at least invest in some kind of speaker system w/ a sub, doesn't have to be shit hot (seriously, cheapo logitech gaming speakers are fine for a hobbyist) but it really helps to hear how stuff sounds in the room.
hearing loss depends on the volume, if you've got stuff coming in at ~90dB (i.e. louder than you can comfortably hold a conversation with) for hours you'll start getting ear fatigue and eventually hearing loss. peaks of >140dB do the immediate, long term damage though - the kind of loud when you're in close proximity to gunshots/explosions, machinery etc. a fucking loud concert is ~115dB. it's funny you mention shitty contemporary christian music - i remember when i was doing live sound with a local church we had to keep everything under 95dB SPL, because if it was louder then we were legally required to provide ear plugs, haha.
ANYWAY tl;dr if you can afford some speakers get those but headphones are okay too; don't sweat hearing loss so much if you're mixing at a comfortable volume.
You can use multiple peak controllers on the same kick with different decay times, and if you're not using the LFO at all you can double up by linking the 2nd control to "Peak & LFO" - no conflicts there.
Also there's literally infinite ways to change how controller input behaves by changing the mapping formula.

Even relatively simple stuff on a directsound driver at the default latency setting will lag like crazy.
Reason is alright but SO different to FL, might take a while for you to get up to speed with it.
SunVox is cool program with a semi-chiptune kinda sound. It's low-resource enough to run on an early-00's PDA and you can make amazing music using it.

"Make unique as sample" to save time when stretching each part and to save RAM, then when it's all in time bounce to a single file and use that to save even moar RAM
Dunno if it matters that much but it'll definitely improve computer performance at least a little bit - I'm running FL on a 5 year old laptop so I kinda have to do this, haha.
