All done.

I feel that proportions are important, so I traced your original work to keep them accurate.

And I've just noticed this is no longer a voting thread. I'm sure you'll rethink the whole game because of me though.

Posted: 09/02/09 04:46 AM

Forum: Video Games

So my PS3 had a problem, and I sent it in for repair. Without any warning, they send me a refurbished model - and get this; the data I had on an external drive is useless on it, as it is copywrited. (Can't be put on a "new" PS3.)

Any of you have any ideas? As far as I can tell, I can't use any of the data I once had.

rrrrrr

Beautiful as always, however the top one looks three-boobed to me. Something to do with the string hanging from her dress at that point.

Perhaps you've accidentally turned on some sort of "optimize size" setting. I suppose theoretically it could be removing any files that it sees as unnecessary, and they only become necessary once you've coded them in the way you explained.

But Hell, I've got no idea.

Not too bad there fella. I'd suggest you keep a constant light source. Might be an idea to actually draw a sketch of a light bulb where the light is coming from. As a reminder.

Secondly, you obviously are having trouble shading smoothly, trying to keep in the lines.

(Here's what you do:

1. Paint all the flat colours on a separate layer. (or layers)
2. Take out the magic wand tool.
3. ENSURE you tick the anti-alias box, and set tolerance to 100.
4. Select a flat colour area that you want to shade by clicking in the centre of it.
5. Create a new layer.
6. While the area is still selected, paint your shading with the brush on low opacity and hardness. This way you will never paint outside of the lines, and it looks quite sexy.

Make goddam sure you work on new layers to separate shadowing and flat colour.)

P.S. Sometimes 100 tolerance is too much, just mess around with it. Ctrl-Z is your best pal!

How did the first couple of posters miss the sarcasm in the subject? I doubt this fellow is so arrogant, it is simply mock superiority, a joke!

Anyway, pretty good cartoons. Inflated heads rarely look good though; for that to work, the drawing needs to be perfect in every other fashion. (Otherwise it looks like a mistake.)

Looks like you were aware of a light source while colouring, that's always good. Just be sure to study how light is cast on different surfaces. If you have a bright light on one side and a dark light on the other, the object looks quite flat.

Otherwise, quite nice work here, really good facial expressions. Tighten up the anatomy and finer details, then you're good to go!

P.S. Try to accept constructive criticism. It's very useful. Particularly Fleshlight's response. (It seemed like you shot it down without understanding it. But maybe I misunderstood your post.)

It hasn't got much to do with CC in my opinion. CC is a 2D game made for co-op missions and arcade style fun. Fat Princess looks like a team-based, 3D multiplayer CTF style game. The only similarity is that they are both set in medieval times. Not sure why you guys are comparing them.
