I'm reading "The Stand" by Stephen King - possibly one of the best reads ever. I don't want to spoil it for you so I won't say anything about the story - but yah, makes you see the beautiful aspects and gritty feelings of human nature.

The only other Horror Novel I'd recommend is "World War Z" by Max Brooks. That man's a genius when it comes to zombie stories - Brad Pitt's company loves it so much that it's planned to be an upcoming film next year.

If You Could Ask God One Question Posted July 9th, 2007 in General

If you could ask God one question, and you know He would answer, what would it be?

This isn't a thread where people should flame/lecture others on what they believe in. Take it humorously or seriously. =)

If you'd like, give a reason why you want this one questionanswered.

I think this is a good idea, even if it's Transporter-ish.

One reason the corporation needs The Messenger is b/c electronic messages are too easy to detect for sophisticated technology, so the one sure way is to use direct human contact only.

Response to: Am I going to Hell? Posted July 7th, 2007 in General

I don't know any emo people, but even if they are as retarded, idiotic, and evil as you all claim them to be... it does not mean that they don't have the potential to grow out of that phase.

You guys can insult Christianity all you want, but the basic principles for this religion is to forgive everyone and that anyone - yes, even emo people - can be transformed for the better. You don't have to believe it, but I just wanted to give you some insight on where I'm coming from.

And btw, for all those Christians who insult other people to feel superior, threaten them about going to hell for kicks, or intentionally piss off other people - they may be genuine believers, but that's not the best /mature way to represent Christ.

No wonder so many people are turned off by Christianity... time to man up folks. If you want people to embrace Christ, you gotta live like Him!

VERY sweet drawing. I'm inspired. =)

Wacom Intuos 3
just installed it this morning, and drew this bit on flash.

How do you like your Wacom Intuos 3? I'm thinking of getting a tablet soon but would love to hear your opinion.

Response to: Am I going to Hell? Posted July 6th, 2007 in General

I am Christian but by no means would I ever want to impose my faith/beliefs on people. If people are curious about my thoughts on hell/heaven, then I'd totally love to talk to them. In the meantime, I just love them unconditionally as I believe God commanded me to.

Jesus didn't stick a gun to someone's head and say, "Accept me or go to hell." Everyone has a choice to have a personal relationship with him. Does this mean I have an imaginary friend who keeps my spirits up? Maybe. I just think it's funny that there are probably just as many atheists as Christians try to impose their ideas on me that I'm just a freak - I guess it works both ways.

Btw, biblically-speaking, Moses is in heaven b/c he did believe in God - the kind of God who is perfect, righteous, and the savior for all mankind If people really thought everyone from the Old Testament is in hell, they obviously don't understand the basics of Christianity.

As for the teenager who committed suicide, it just makes me sad that someone's death can make someone else laugh - this isn't a movie or something fictional - it's real. Someone who had so much potential to change for the better, make a difference in someone else's life, and the ability to love life and others - it's all gone now for this one individual. Freaking sad.

AAGH... I remember the "pissing out of your butt" days... not fun.

I remember I had such a bad case of food poisoning, I had to go to the ER and get one of those IV-thingies stuck in my arm for nutrients... I wanted to die at the time.

Next time I sit on my toilet, I'll be much more appreciative. Thanks for the reminder and yah, hang in there!

Response to: What makes you special? Posted July 6th, 2007 in General

Lol, thats like alot of people

Sadly, I'm one of these retards who can't remember lyrics at all - I'm uber pro-American but after one month of not practicing the Star Spangled Banner, I forget the words! =(

Response to: What makes you special? Posted July 5th, 2007 in General

I tend to think I communicate and write well - graduating from law school has helped a lot. Although analyzing hundreds of pages can be boring and suck the creativity out of ya, I love to daydream, draw, and even write fictional pieces. My new emphasis is photoshop and flash which is why I'm now addicted to NG.

Personality-wise: I'm pretty passionate, faithful, and aim to be "other-centered." I've gone through the selfish and REALLY selfish phases, so I'm finally growing up and learning to live for someone other than myself - getting married certainly enforces this mentality.

One last thing: I'm probably one of the very few people in this world who break dances and obtained a juris doctorate degree... not that this unique combination makes you a better person.

Great thread, looking forward to hearing more from other "special" folks. =)

Not that there's anything too bad with TV and movies... balance is key!

Response to: Scary thought Posted July 5th, 2007 in General

One of the main reasons I left Myspace and started coming to Newgrounds is the fact that the Newgorunds community actually cares about what goes on their web site.

Of course, if the MySpace whore trend caught up to Newgrounds, I would think Tom and the rest of the staff would get butt-rich and would sell out... so that is a scary thought.

Response to: How was ur 4th of July? Posted July 5th, 2007 in General

Didn't get to see Transformers yet due to the family's demand for Ratatouille... but I must say, that movie went beyond my expectations.

Also got to visit a family friend in the hospital, which made me appreciate life much more.

Overall, not bad of a July 4th - in fact, quite memorable. =)

Response to: The "No Masturbation Crew" Posted June 27th, 2007 in Clubs & Crews

Awesome thread and very encouraging for a Christian noob like myself.

For a good ten years of my life, I embraced porn and lust. I was Anti-Christian most of my life and I usually thought, "Screw those self-righteous Christian pigs" and did my own thing.

Three years ago, due to some miraculous circumstances, I accepted Christ into my heart. Now, my biggest struggle in this life is lust. Sometimes it just creeps up on me and I succumb to the temptation. It sucks and I feel guilty every single time.

For those who want to know why masturbation is immoral, the Bible finds lust (anything sex-related outside marriage) as immoral. So yah, even undressing a woman in your mind is considered a sin. And for those Christians who actually don't find masturbation as immoral, the bigger question is this: How does jacking off glorify God? Every sincere Christian knows that in everything we do, the purpose is to glorify Jesus. Even if it's not sin, it's a huge waste of time and I highly doubt Jesus would give you a high-five on that.

Anyway, this is the one area of my life where I'm truly struggling. This thread helped a lot and I believe those who are truly faithful will overcome this dilemma.

Much thanks to Daedalus for creating this crew. =)

But hey, college was SWEET!

Grad School (mba, J.d., Phd, Etc.) Posted June 21st, 2007 in General

This thread won't be very popular since I think NG is generally comprised of college-aged to high-school-aged teenagers, but I'm just curious.

If you attend or graduated from grad school , introduce yourself!

I'm 27, just got married, and graduated from Syracuse University Law School last year. Unfortunately, I failed the California Bar Exam twice and am struggling whether or not I still want to pursue becoming a lawyer.

After discovering NG a few months ago, I fell in love with Flash and Photoshop which is why I love hanging out here. =) Who knows? Maybe I'll just ditch the legal career to become an animator... !

Response to: Hey Newgrounds: Do You Read? Posted June 21st, 2007 in General

AWESOME thread. As I'm getting older, I realize that more and more people do not read due to wonderful distractions (movies, tv, NG, video games, etc.).

I was always a book worm. Science-fiction and fantasy is what keeps me going.

For those who love zombies, read Max Brooks' WORLD WAR Z - awesome book and it's going to be a film sometime next year, I believe.

For those who love apocalyptic and gritty stuff, read Stephen King's THE STAND. If you want to know a great description of evil, this book is amazing.

Seriously, those who read will be better writers than those who don't. Of course, if you don't want to be a good writer, then keep doing what you're (not) doing.

Response to: Favorite restaurant? Posted June 21st, 2007 in General

What is this, yelp ?

My favorite restaurant is only in Japan or Milpitas, CA. It's called Pepper Lunch. Not that great of a name, but it's sooo good! For $6 meals (dinner prices!), you get beef, rice, corn, miso soup, and some yummy sauce.

I'm drooling just thinking about it and I just went there last night. lol The only bad thing about the restaurant is that you WILL smell like the food after eating it...

LOL thats funny. Oh well. Everybody has atleast one fear or weakness....

What's worse is that my pastor told that fact to everyone at my wedding (basically everyone who gives a damn about me) when he was officiating to reflect on all the good qualities of my 'courageous' wife. LOL

Now everyone KNOWS I'm a wimp. I really hate spiders now. =P

Response to: I saw a ghost! Posted June 21st, 2007 in General

If you're not BSing us, all i gotta say is seek help and pray HARD.

I dont' believe in ghosts, but biblically speaking, there's no such things as good ghosts - they're really demons who only want to confuse/harm ya.

If I ever saw a ghost, I'd definitely tell us as many people as possible - then I'd ask good old J.C. to take that thing away from me.
