Response to: Smaller Than <br> Posted November 6th, 2006 in Programming

Create a seperate class for <p> tag elements. Name it p.small or something in your .css file. Change the line height attribute in the .css.

Now that you have that done, paragraphs you want with smaller lines should look something like <p class="small">LOL THIS LINE HAS A SMALLER HEIGHT</p>

Hope that helps =/

Hope you don't mind me asking, but.. What engineering degree are you pursuing?

Response to: Visual Basic, is it any good? Posted November 4th, 2006 in Programming

Well since you have already made games in Flash that must mean that you have worked with ActionScript. So you got the programming fundamentals. C++ wouldn't be too hard to learn, just a lot of practice.

As for VB and making games... It's true that VB wasn't intended to have games made on it, but believe me, you sure as hell can make games! You can BitBlt, double buffer and a lot of other crazy things. If you go into VB, hit me up and I will show you how to BitBlt and double buffer. Man, it's been a while since I've worked with VB.....

Since you just got hostultra, just upload your index.html file. It'll go straight to your main directory since you haven't made any other directories.

Response to: UK Vs. Muslims. Posted October 31st, 2006 in Politics

Thank you for that post Lapis. Very informative =D

What I know of Muhommed was that he was a "war prophet". I would rather not get into that though. Anywho, did I take the quotes out of context?

Response to: UK Vs. Muslims. Posted October 31st, 2006 in Politics

The Muslims follow the hadith as well, do they not? Also, if it is out of context, please tell me how it's supposed to be read because I really want to learn.

Well, guess what... Let's just pull up some quotes. Look them up your self if you don't believe me, I am in no way a credulous fool. Here ya go:

Qur’an:9:5 “Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”

Qur’an:2:216 “Jihad (holy fighting in Allah’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims), though you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not.” [Another translation reads:] “Warfare is ordained for you.”

Oh and here is a nice one for all you women out there:

Tabari IX:113 “Allah permits you to shut them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Qur’an.”

It's $6.99 US.

The guy that owns the site is ex-muslim. I suggest looking into things before making uneducated comments.

Response to: UK Vs. Muslims. Posted October 30th, 2006 in Politics

You are mistaken.

All the quotes are taken from the Muslim's holy Qu'ran. Nothing there is "made up".

The second link is just a big message board where you can ask questions if need be.

Also, I don't really think I am a hypocrite. In some cases (as someone poited out before me) wearing the veil raises security issues. You can have bank robbers disguised as Muslim women - their faces hidden from the cameras. If it jeapordizes security, then it's a viable option to ban veils. It's like you said. There is a freedom to move to another country. They don't have to live in Britain. Now I don't like the idea of someone moving because of one little issue, but that's life. Plus, in Britain you don't need to wear it, so why do it? You aren't revoking your religion since it's your choice...

Response to: UK Vs. Muslims. Posted October 30th, 2006 in Politics

I would like to point out that the British government isn't singling out the Muslims with their comment on the veil. Britain isn't a Muslim country, so they have every right to say what they did.

Also, on the comment about Muslims choosing to wear a veil... I would like to point out that in Muslim governed countries there is no choice. In most cases women are forced to cover every part of their skin, let alone their head.

I wouldn't oppose the banning of Muslim religious head gear. I would endorse it. For more information please visit these websites:

*On a side note. I am not a racist. I have many Muslim friends actually.*

Response to: Q basic does it really help? Posted October 16th, 2005 in Programming

Ahh good old qbasic...

I remember starting off with it. It helped me understand how programming languages work. The syntax and the likes are very similar to any other BASIC language.

Yes, QBasic is a very good first-time programming language.

Response to: Archive html Posted October 16th, 2005 in Programming

Ahh yes..

You could use the iframe attribute in HTML.

You could use the Include function in PHP.

You could use DB's.

The iframes probably easier. Maybe your host doesn't support PHP or DB. Go with the iframe for starters.

Response to: Fl has no sound Posted October 8th, 2005 in Audio

Did you reformat your computer, is that the reason you are installing it again? Did you have FL on a burnt CD?

If so, none of the channels will give you a sound. Unless you have the retail FL, pop the cd back in and reinstall or grab the demo and unlock it again (if you have it legally that is...).

Why use fruitloops when you can use real music software to origional results instead of limited sampling and beatbox meathods that produces pretty much the same style of music all the time.

Did ParagonX9, probably the most acclaimed music artist on the AP use fruityloops? No he did not. He used Reason 2.5. I use Reason 3.0, both of which are software which requires reasonable ammounts of musical knowledge to even get started in the first place.

Ok I appreciate its easy to use, and i'll even appreciate that not everyone is comfortable with Reasons hefty £600 price tag, bu t as far as I see it, any program where you dont actually have to be able to play an instrument isnt a decent piece of music software.

Fruityloops is to audio what Swish is to flash. Cheap.

People who use FL may and in most chances play a real instrument. You don't see any noob just creating a great piece in FL studio. Most people know the piano, drums and guitar for that matter. These instruments should and most likely will help when creating your music in FL studio.

FL isnt cheap. You are.

Adding a reeverb on the master mixer track can sound pretty bad.

Response to: Ask your FruityLoops questions here Posted April 21st, 2005 in Audio

The cool effects are known as "generators"

If you have the demo you can access them easily by going to your mixer (F9) or View >>> Mixer. Then chose the FX channel you want it in, and press the little arrow and you will get a list of generators. Then you can chose which one you want.

Anyways, can anyone help me with the peak controller?

Can anyone help me with this? Pretty please =)

Response to: Fruity Loops 5 Posted April 18th, 2005 in Audio

Very wise.

FL 5 has a lot more generators and you can even stretch the audio recordings under the playlist. Really good stuff.
