Love/Hate Sonic Art Posted December 19th, 2009 in Art

So I came across news that they are making a new 2D sonic thats supposed to take it back to its roots. I felt a bit of excitement, then I remembered SEGA is garbage and they are going to ruin Sonic again. So I made my own HD version of Sonic. I was so bored the other day I even animated it :P

Killgore Game Concept Posted September 12th, 2008 in Game Development

I'm an animator and I started working on this concept. I actually animated the main character already. I can't do scripting so I wonder if there is anyone out there who is interested in collaborating with me?

KILLGORE sidescrolling shooter/platformer

Controls
Up - Look Up
Left - Walk Left
Right - Walk Right
Down - Crouch/Crawl
A - Shoot/Melee Attack
S - Jump

Overview
A pretty simple and straightforward shooter/platformer in the vein of games like Metal Slug and Contra. There is tons of gore as the title suggests. Your goal in the game is to take down a Factory Farm and kill anyone who crosses your path.

Story
The main character is a bull named Killgore who was castrated and left for dead in a field outside of a slaughterhouse. He is rescued by PETA and is given a second chance. However he cannot forget the horrors committed against him and he returns to the Factory Farm armed with a machine gun.

Environments
These are just a few ideas in no particular order (i'll probably only do 1 of these):
Slaughterhouse
Corporate Office
Space Station
Super Market
White House
Suburban Neighborhood
Forrest

Enemies (probably only have 1 or 2 badguys)
Farm Workers
Innocent Bystanders
Butchers
Inspectors
Police

Bosses (probably only 1 boss)
Bob the Butcher
Robo Butcher 3000
Meat Grinder
The Meat Inspector
Swat
Mercenary

Powerups
Growth Hormones
First Aid
Steroids
Grass

Well it looks like the woman is traced and the sword you just made up, so maybe you should just trace a sword cuz it looks muddy and less defined compared to the woman.

I realize everyone else was shooting for hyperreal but I decided that I suck at that and I went for a less painterly approach... Is that a bad thing? I suppose I could go bad and paint it in photoshop but idk.

Well I have to say I've been waiting for this with some excitement after playing your other games (Clubby the Seal, Gish, Blastminer) and after playing the web version I was a little disappointed. The lag really prevented me from enjoying the game and fully exploring all the features it had to offer, but luckily I gave the downloadable version a try and found the game much more enjoyable. There are still some little issues (collision detection, responsiveness, the reload system, no checkpoints or savesystem as far as I can tell) but overall this is a good game that with a little more tweaking could be a really great game!
