He looks kinda chubby....if you want to try chibi just make the head a lot bigger than the body (The body needs to be short).

This is utterly amazing! The nose is a tiny bit abnormal, but the rest is wonderful.

Anime has it's ups, but I suggest that if you're starting out with comics or art in general, go for realism. Then, when you know what the proportions are of bodies, you can screw with them because you'll still know how to fix it. Same thing happened to me, I started off with cartoons when I was still in my toddler years, went to realism, then anime (Still weird looking), then realism again, and now I am at Comic Book Superhero (Jim Lee Style)Style.
