i rly need some opinion of my compositions are evolving.. im animation university student.. my objective is make some nice work to later start with animations
i think some highlights reflecting from the fire hands onto the Armour would be a nice feature, also i suspect the eye on the right needs to be balanced a little more with the left... maybe a little bigger (but i'm not completely sure)
it might also look good to colour the lines around the skin, like you did with the hands.
should i change the hair to be short?
i decided to redo the line art because it was previously sloppy
i'm having a little trouble with what to add to this, it needs something to make it more elaborate... or maybe keeping it simple would be best. still a long way to go
starting out a new sketch, i'll put hands and robotic stuff in later

It gives off a dark-souls-ey comic feel.
a friend of mine said it looks like a dark souls boss, but i'm not sure which one

that's some really incredible work, i look forwards to seeing it finished.
i agree, i think there's too much porn on the art portal. however it seems to be what some people want, if it attracts people to the art portal to begin with there's not much to say really. it's a shame when i see some really good work go unnoticed.
as for the manga i don't really mind, i make some of it as well along side digital paintings.
female anatomy. still need a lot of work to progress this.
also here's some other stuff i've been doing
the background is lazy............................... because the character is the point to this one.
Wow youre doing great.
Your spirit is inspiring, good luck! : D
I've never really used the pen tool much and i can see why, it can make a simple task much more complex. plus this is a simple character I've made for an animation workshop, it will be hand drawn for the actual animation but it was long over due to learn about the pen tool which can be very good.
and thank you, but i'm as inspiring as a potato .... maybe a lemon, maybe.
also been working further on methods to recreate figure without reference, it takes time and focus but i think i'm on the right line now. drawing the human body is one of the most ridiculously difficult tasks, so fair play to those who master it.
starting today i will be studying under the British film association for a while, hopefully i learn some new tricks for future work.
while the sketched pose is quite right, the step on isn't as anatomically correct, and i suppose, since you avoided sketching his right foot properly, you know what's the problem: the feet indeed.
they are one of the most difficult body parts to draw, especially in a dynamic pose like this with a lot of perspective involved, BUT you shouldn't give up on drawing them. i usually use triangles to sketch out feet, they're the most similar simple shape you can use to get started. once you achieved the perspective you can move on and add details.
as it is now it seems that ankle is about to twist till it's broken.
you're right, i shouldn't have been lazy. i'll make note of that next time as poses can be very unforgiving. thanks for the tip
i've been tweaking and playing around with this method for some time now. i find it helps create better poses from imagination without losing too much detail or taking too much time. if anyone wants me to explain it properly, i'll put notes on stages as i progress this sketch.
i put a sketch up on page 5 of a demon sloth thing.....on this thread in case any of you miss it.
