Well, I'll see what I can do. It might go up as high as 65%-70%, though, but there are a few depending factors to it, such as how much we get paid and if we do get paid at all. Still, I'll try to pay him the best I can, but it also depends on the type of job he does too (hence the lowest is 35%).

Flash animation, styled realistically (Think sort of the more modern American cartoons you find in comics like American Vampire, only a bit more cell-shaded then most of these cartoons).

Well, if we do make a profit, and to be honest, that's IF we make one. Plus, add on the fact there are other people operating within the project that need to be paid as well, so the animator wouldn't be doing 100% of the work, and considering that we have people who need to be compensated. Imagine what would happen if we didn't compensate? Then, there would be less people involved in the project because of our untrustworthiness. So, therefore, we cannot compensate him for everything unless he does everything. Although animating a realistic/anime is difficult process, there are voice actors, script writers (me and a few others), and artists that work hard and need to be compensated as well. (PS It's 35% and up. So, they could get paid as much as 60%, depending on how well of a job they do)

On the topic relating to collaboration projects in Newgrounds, what do you, Newgrounders, would like most at the end of a major project: Having a few people who sincerely care about your work, and are willing to expand it using their own talents (whether it be writing, programming, or something along those lines), or would you rather prefer a significantly large audience who have absolutely nothing to offer except pointless reviews (i.e. reviews such as IT WAS GOOD and just leaving it like that). All comments (as long as they're not degrading or horrid) are welcome. :)

Good luck!
Yeah, what's wrong with that? It makes the process go a bit easier, we can contemplate as to what we need to research, and we can check each others work. Since most of us hold jobs, it would be more effiient if we had variety of talents working alongside us for the betterment of this project. Sure, we can do it with only one animator, one musician, one voice-actor, and one writer, but why settle for that when you can have a wider variety of talent and ideas being exchanged to create a work of art at an efficient pace?

We're looking for any potential writers, Animators, Musicians, Voice actors, and/or artists who would like to help me and my team with a new project we're working on about life as a crime doctor. If you're interested, just leave a comment on this forum or PM message me, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you.

Hey, thanks for the reply!:D I've actually been messaged by a user by the name of J-Rex, who offered to help me with my collaboration idea and get me started. Although some of his flash movies have received some low ratings, with the help of some other animators and voice actors, we might be able to set this up to be really big. The project, in itself, is so far about a doctor who gets kicked out of a well-respected hospital because of false evidence, stating that he raped unconcious patients. Broken and unable to find a job, he takes on the role as a Criminal Doctor for a Crime Syndicate located in New Orleans. That's what we have so far, but we're still planning. The more support we get, the better, ya know!:D
I was curious as to if there was anyone interested in doing a collaboration animation project? As a writer, it's fairly difficult for me to find any work to do in the Collaboration and Writing channels, so I'm really just curious if anyone would like to do a project with me any time in the future. I'm a bit handy when it comes to stories (see Innocent Crimes Redox), and I know how to properly format and write a good script. Not only that, but I'm also a musician, and (if given the right recording devices), I can churn out some music for a future flash animation project. So, to be honest, I would just be interested in working with whoever was out there, and seeing what we could create. If any of you all are interested, just PM me, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you.

For now just make do with the writing forum, if Squidbit is right then there will be a lit portal eventually, seeing as they've gone to the trouble of making it.
Hey, althuogh it is possible that people could rule 34 everything, it's also possible that it could help flash animators a lot out because the amount of time of effort that it takes to write a script for maybe a game or a movie is enormous, so what would be better? Having a resource you could use (which is also widely known), or having to scour Newgrounds just to find that one literature post mentioned in that one forum about furries or some crap. All you really need is a list of rules as to what people can and can't do, and then you should be good.

Anyway, in light of the Newgrounds Writing Anthology on Kickstarter, do you think writers on this site will get more respect? I mean, why are writers relegated to one small sub forum? Why don't we have a hub or portal like the other mediums? Are we not as creative or as exciting as the people who make games or movies? Is our work not as visually exciting as Art? Are writers just a fun little thing to laugh at every now and then because they don't do "real work"?
I'm sure this has been talked about before, but I feel its a timely issue to bring back and have a discussion about. This site really is one of the best on the internet for new, creative, and great ideas. Its just a shame that doesn't carry over to writers.
I know that feel, bro. It's actually pretty tough to find a job here on Newgrounds to do. Whether it's animating or creating new literary works of art, it feels as if we get the low end of the stick because we have to literally go out and ask for a job from people who are more interested in finding some busy animators or voice-actors, rather than someone who could come up with a more-than-decent plot. Not to complain, but the fact that we don't even have our own portal makes it all the more worse. I'd say that we are as hard-working and as creative as those animators, but in a different way. Unlike animators, who paint pictures by using pencils and computers, we are creators who use the art of words to paint our pictures. No disrespect to any animators, artists, or voice-actors, of course, but I'm just saying that some of us writers work hard, too.

Sorry, I like to start off with some really bad humor. I'm in the process of developing a web series that will be airing on YouTube. While it's not terribly difficult to get licensing permission for individual songs, I do need someone who is able to compose background music.
The project is called "City Of Angels". It concerns itself with John Smith, a vampire hunter who is based in Los Angeles. Yes, I know, not groundbreakingly original. However, after the colossal screw-ups of the Twilight franchise, I decided vampires need to be evil, demonic creatures again. Not sparkly fairies. At any rate, the show is an overall drama, with elements of supernatural/sci-fi and a little dark comedy. One of my favorite composers working these days is Christophe Beck. Go ahead and look him up. He has a signature sound, and I want that sort of feel. Music makes or breaks a visual art form. Try watching Star Wars without the music. Totally different film.
Right now this is NOT A PAYING JOB. HOWEVER: You will receive credit as a composer, your name will be on a series that will be viewed by a LOT of people, and you will be part of the New Blood Productions catalog, which means the minute money starts to come in, you'll start getting paid. If you want to see some concept film, check out http://www.youtube.com/user/CityofAngelsSeries/videos. You can contact me with interest vie YouTube, or the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/cityofangelsseries. Thanks, and I look forward to collaborating with you.
Maybe I could help a bit with the writing, if you need an writer. I mean, I heard that you were a little bit annoyed at how (because of the Twilight series), that Vampire Hunters are now a thing of the past and Vampires, in themselves, have been turned into gentle creatures that sparkle in the sunlight, but if you need any help with writing the script, I'd be more than happy to lend a hand.
(Author's Note: WELP, I said I could make a better version of my previous version, and I did. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it, and if you would like to see it expand and grow, OR if you would like to request a new original work or collaboration, just let me know either through PM or by commenting. Thanks and have an awesome day!:D)
Innocent Crime
The air stung my face as I ran outside on this dismal, winter night. Tonight would be a dangerous venture, that would require all my strength to complete successfully. This winter had lasted too long, and the wood that we stored was depleted. Over the years we had chopped down more and more trees, leading me to come to this groove, miles away from my cabin. This area had been left untouched by civilization, but unlike the people of the city, we were fortunate. Everything we needed was provided by ourselves, and not by our government. However, if I didn't come back with more wood, my family would succumb to hypothermia and die. My breath, visible, and my hands shook violently, as they tried to stay warm, I walked over to the nearest tree. I took a few seconds to try to warm myself up. Afterwards, I reached back to grab my axe, and began chopping it down. I knew that it would take a while, and that I would be exhausted by the time I finished. However, I needed to do everything I could to keep my family alive and well. Even if it meant getting hypothermia.
After hours of chopping, the tree finally fell, and, feeling relieved that I could sell the excess wood, I began working my way towards the tip of the tree, planning on chopping off the tip first and then working my way down as it got tougher and tougher. I knew I wouldn't be able to get all of the wood, but I could make trips to and from my house to get the rest. I didnâEUTMt have a car, so it would make it all the more difficult for me to get back to my house, but I had to try to carry as much as I could. âEUoeItâEUTMll be like an exercise. Just like when I was in the army,âEU I told myself, as the bitter wind blew across my dry face. However, halfway up, I noticed something strange. Something was sticking up from the group, and it was funny looking. It seemed like a bent piece of wood that had been iced over, and I decided to try to pull it out. "The more wood I have, the better off I'll be," I told myself. After minutes of examining it, I finally tried pulling it up. The first try was difficult. I knew that it would be tough to pull out, since it was incased in ice, but I never expected that it would be this difficult. The second try was better, though. I could see the bent piece of wood starting to come up a little bit more. On the third try, I finally was able to pull the piece of wood up, only to come to the realization that it never had been wood at all. It was only the limb of a dead boy.
Due to my army training, I was used to seeing dead bodies before me. The first thing that I did was check to make sure that there was any identification. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any. I grimaced at the fact that I was so far away from home, and that I didn't even know if I would be able to report this. Well, at least not after what happened. I contemplated as to what I was going to do. I knew that if I didn't report this crime, the Government would eventually find it. Although he didn't care about their people, Stalin would care about what they were doing, and that is what frightened me the most. It would be a day's walk over to the nearest city, so I had to make a choice now as to what I was going to do, and do it quick. Unfortunately I choose the wrong choice.
When I met with the people at NKVD, we exchanged meaningless pleasantries about our jobs and the great leader Stalin. It wasn't until someone asked me what I, specifically, was doing here. Only two minutes in and they already distrusted me. As we drove over there, I had to shoe my wife and children away from the crime scene, as I gave them the location of the body. Suddenly, a strong, middle-aged man walked up to me. He greeted me with a smile.
"Comrade! It's been forever my good friend!" yelled the man. His face beamed with delight as he saw me examine the body. I should have guessed it was Anatoly.
"Hello, my friend!" I told him, trying to fake my enthusiasm. I wasn't at all happy to see him, or at least happy to see that he was here, flaunting his power as if he was a peacock.
"Ah! I see it's been a few years since they let you out of the Gulags! I'm so glad to hear that you've finally come to terms with the glory of our Country and our glorious leader, Stalin," Anatoly replied, his sinister grin wider than ever. It instilled a fear in me that I could not comprehend, but I agreed unwillingly. I bit my tongue because I knew that it was him who turned my country against me.
"Yes, I'm glad too," I replied, tactfully. "I saw the boy-"
"Don't worry. We know who the boy is," interrupted Anatoly, his eyes burning with glee. "He was the son of a wealthy politician who one day decided to go play out in the woods. He decided to go far, but this was unfortunately his downfall, for he died out here only two days ago." He turned his eyes to the boy's, and then sharply glanced back at me, "âEU¦or he was killed by a traitor to the state. Your choice."
As he left the boy there to stay, the NKVD told me that they had the situation under control. They then told me that everything was going to be fine, but I knew that it was a lie. It made me wonder whoâEUTMs body's this was, who killed this man, and who was the killer. However, they told me not to worry about it, and that nothing happened. In their mind, nothing DID happen, and that I was just worrying over nothing.
A few months later, I was taken from my home and family without a clear explanation. My wife was killed in the crossfire, because one of the men who took me out stating during the court case that she was âEUoeresisting arrestâEU, even though they know that we both were sound asleep by the time they broke down the door to our house. Then, they brought me to a location where they could torture me. âEUoeItâEUTMll be all over soon, as soon as you admit your guilt and tell us your contacts,âEU said Anatoly, his face gleeful tone. "I'd be more than happy to report your guilty, because the sooner you do, the sooner I get a promotion. No one's going to save you, because who would want to save a drunkard who disrespected Stalin's great name in public?" After I had finally confessed, I was brought immediately to a courtroom. I sat there, hearing the charges presented against me, one for the murder of the man who was out in the woods, and the other for the murder of other men who were killed in similar fashions. There was no one to defend me. This was not a court case. This was a death sentence, and these were going to be my last words. With that, I have nothing more to say then goodbye.

Fame.
It's a word that you hear almost everywhere nowadays.
You can hear it in the press, you can read it in the news,
whether it's on the floor of a concert, or on the pews of a church.
However, how many people actually get famous?
Take a while to think about that,
sure, take your time
think of the probabilities of you making a dime,
or of the probability that you'll be just another wash-up.
How many people have actually tried their hardest?
To be in a spot of fame,
and have had their works be called lame,
or their work cut out of them.
Look at all the world famous directors in the world,
and look at poor little Eddie,
Trying to make a living with petty
actors and stars, who were no more than dope addicts.
Never making a single cent,
despite his joyous attitude
and his amazingly creative aptitude,
he almost completely lived in poverty.
Look at all the famous bands in the world
and look at the unfortunate band, Shark Speed,
who are in desperate need for an audience.
Only making a small living.
Only popular by hipsters
hoping for a mister to tip them.
Look at all the famous writers,
and then look at me.
A man who probably won't even be
noticed.
So why do I write you ask?
Why do I want to do this for a living?
When it's just a giant misgiving?
Why do this to myself?
I do it because it's the only thing that keeps me sane.
Every day, I get piled with work that I don't even know,
as I sometimes sometimes get these very low
grades that mess with my confidence.
It gives me quiet, when I can't have it.
It gives me solace and paradise, when it's the one thing I don't have,
and I don't honestly care if I make a living or not off of it, because I know two things.
The first reason is that I know that my life will not be a puddle of disinterest, like that of a business executive.
As for the second reason, at least I know I'll be happy, regardless as to if I die at the age of 20 or at the age of 120.

WELL, an aristocracy is where a small upper class of people rule over a large lower class of people. Think of a tyranny, for example. You have the dictator, that sits at the very top, and then you have every one working underneath him. It's bad because although you may have an opinion on a certain topic, it can't really be heard because you (the user) are technically the minority, and you're opinion doesn't necessarily matter when you're dealing with the people who run the aristocracy. If you need more examples on the harms of being in an Aristocracy, I would suggest that you look at American Industrialism in the 1900's.

Now before you rag on me for putting this up here, and call my mother something offensive, allow me to explain. Newgrounds is very much like a Democracy, in the sense that you can upload content, vote, and discuss your opinions. It's the perfect place to start if you're an up-and-coming artist, looking for a head start in the internet. However, it's also very much like an Aristocracy in the sense that you have these elite users (i.e. the always amazing Egoraptor and Eddsworld), a small middle class, and a society of lower-level users. Although this could also be said about sites like Youtube or Funnyjunk, do you think that this is true in some sense? Or do you have a completely different view? Like I said before, although it is the starting point for many writers, artists, and flash makers, I think that Newgrounds also has the qualities of an Aristocracy in the sense that there's a very small group of animators that make the majority of the popular content on Newgrounds, and a much larger lower-level society of users. I'm not trying to rag on Newgrounds, because it is an amazing site, but what do you think about it personally?
(Another Author's Note: Totally re-editing it and re-writing it. Version Two, here I come.)

*DARN IT, I MEANT LITERARY PORTAL! >:(
Although this may not be a very discussed subject on Newgrounds, as a writer I feel rather perturbed that there is no Literary Portal. Now don't get me wrong, it's not like I spend every second of every day dreaming that there is one, but it makes me feel a little bit left out that we don't have one, and there are loads of talented writers here on Newgrounds too, so it makes me wonder even more as to how they feel. It's nice to take comfort in the fact that we have a forum, and that people do comment and add their submissions to it, but I think we could make Newgrounds so much better with a Literature Portal! Not only could we have discussions on the pieces, be able to judge them, and finally rate them, but it would also be better for those who are into literature because they wouldn't have to stumble their way across a plethora of forum's just to find that one forum that holds all the Literary content. Still, this is just my opinion, but what do you guys think?

I sat there, hearing the charges presented against me, one for the murder of the man who was out in the woods, and the other for the murder of other men who were killed in similar fashions. There was no one to defend me. This was not a court case. This was a death sentence.
Now, I have requested that I could write this last page of my will, discussing the crimes brought to me. This may not reach the public, because they can be quite thorough when it comes to checking unwanted documents, but it doesnâEUTMt matter. This is my final moment, and despite what the records say, I am innocent, and that is all I have to add. I am not a liar, but I had no other choice but to say I was guilty. IâEUTMm sorry.
