I think you lose out that way. The voting 0 or 5 is an attempt by the user to exercise some kind of power when the truth is, it doesn't really make much of a difference. I say you stick to the original idea, using the voting to communicate what you really thought of the work. You can do this by showing what percentage of people voted with a 5, what percentage voted with a 4 and so on. For example, of the show "Kung Fu" (whatever), 10% gave it a 5, 20% gave it a 4, 30% gave it a 3, 10% gave it 2 and so on. That way, what you thought of it gets communicated instead of just getting lumped into a single number.

They're not charging to view their site and they're not going to be doing much in the way of updates.

I went to your site again.

I see that the NG logo is at the bottom of the page at http://www.demolitioncity.com/news2.htm . It took awhile for the logo to load because the counter.com script seemed really slow to download, and I guess that preceded it. When the NG logo finally loaded, it was a red X. Even after refreshing it a few times, it was still a red x.

How are people finding the news2.htm page? I don't see any links to it from your home page. In fact, it looks like your home page is a few links to other people's pages and the news2.htm page (your news feed page) just draws headlines from this: http://w.moreover.com/cgi-local/wizard_clone.pl

It's a service available to anyone. I'm not sure why 1,000s of people would be going to your site to get it.
