It's said to truly suck.

Too bad, since it just looks so good in the previews.

Leaving for Coachella tomorrow, I'll tell you guys how Kraftwerk were (and possibly Akron and Family, since I guess they're related to Gira and all)

I think they cancelled the US tour because of that.

EBM annoys me because when people mistake often it with Industrial, and doesn't should that close to it in : my opinion (I'm a genre douche.)

there's some exceptions, i mean Frontline assembly now doesn't really sound 'industrial' but their older material does imo. Voice of Destruction is also considered 'ebm' by some people for some stupid reason even though i believe they're closer to the industrial rock/metal sound than other... ugh, "ebm" acts.

i just hate the term 'idm' cause it makes no sense. it's not dance music (well, barely) and whether it's intelligent or not is debatable so???

im at a point where im a cross between

"oh hey new band that's industrial *wets fucken pants*"

and

"oh man this band is cheesy and lame and probably aren't even real industrial but whatever *listens*"

PS i hate the terms 'EBM' and 'IDM'

Good/Bad industrial news today

i'll start with the bad:

A founding father of krautrock has passed away. Klaus Dinger, who played drums for Kraftwerk and went on to co-found Neu!, died March 21, although the news of his death was not made public until today. A report from Neu! label Grönland cites the cause of death as heart failure. Dinger was 61, and would have turned 62 on March 24.

Dinger trademarked the steady, propulsive drumming style that came to define the motorik sound associated with krautrock. He drummed on Kraftwerk's 1970 self-titled debut before leaving the band, along with guitarist Michael Rother, to start Neu! Neu! released three seminal albums during the 70s, and had a noted influence on everyone from David Bowie to Sonic Youth to Stereolab.

After Neu! dissolved, Dinger achieved commercial success with La Düsseldorf, and in the 90s he formed a composite group of sorts called La! Neu?

René Renner, head of Grönland Records, called Dinger "an uncompromising musician, a challenging personality, [an] inspirational human being, and one of the most influential drummers" in a statement released today.

Renner also invoked a telling Brian Eno quote: "There were three great beats in the 70's. Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, James Brown's funk, and Klaus Dinger's Neu! beat."

Rother eulogized Dinger on his website, writing, "Together with many friends of his music I will remember Klaus for his creativity as an artist and I will think about him with gratitude for his wonderful contributions to our project Neu!."

and now the good:

After numerous line-up changes throughout the years, all original KILLING JOKE members reunite for new album and world tour.

Drummer, Paul Ferguson, rejoins the line up for the first time since 1987 enabling a whole new generation of fans to see Killing Joke's legendary original formation. Die hard fans have been waiting for this moment for two decades!

Bassist, Martin 'Youth' Glover also steps back into the live arena after a near 15 hiatus, having not played live with KILLING JOKE since 1994's Pandemonium tour.

The tour will see KILLING JOKE take up a two night residency in most venues offering a different set on each evening. On the first night, they will play their first two albums in their entirety, 1980's self-titled album followed by the album What's This...For!. Their second performance in each city will treat fans to 1994's Pandemonium and the Island Records singles of '79 to '80.

Probably Sonic Adventure: Limited Edition. It's the rarest (or one of the top rarest) game for the US Dreamcast, it was only released to about several hundred or so Hollywood Videos. I doubt even 1000 copies exist of it.

Other than that, some harder to find PS2 games (Klonoa 2, Gradius III and IV, Ico, Metropolismania)
