There are many tutorials about it, go have a look. If you can't bother to follow them, just download the NG preloader and edit it as much as you like.

Response to: Madness Anim Screenshot:review It Posted January 1st, 2007 in Game Development

Well, not much to comment on here. It's just another madness tribute, unorginal as hell. It's very hard to judge if it will be good or not since the artwork isn't the main part of madness, the smoothness of the animation and the action is, and the only thing we got to see was a screenshot.

But good luck anyway.

Response to: May be helpful for some Posted January 1st, 2007 in Game Development

No. No, I don't think that will be helpful. For anyone. At all. Seriously.

Response to: Messing with FBF .. Posted January 1st, 2007 in Game Development

It's ok, not worthy it's own topic though in my opinion, it's pretty small y'know. Anyway, I guess you want some comments, I guess you could add some colors and so on, and I'm not to keen on the blue outline but maybe that's just me :P

Response to: FBF experiment, want feedback Posted January 1st, 2007 in Game Development

Make it bigger, make the animation and the lines smoother, add more frames and higher the FPS,
add colors. And so on. Practice and you'll get the hang of everything soon.

Response to: This got blammed, but it's better.. Posted January 1st, 2007 in Game Development

Higher the fps, think of a more orginal idea, improve your drawing, add sound and so on. Pretty much everything needs improvement. it didn't even look like you used tweening to make that text in the begining to move, everything was choppy.

Practice, practice, practice!

It is ilegall, yes. It is very unlikely that you'd be caught or something though, but still.

Response to: zOMG another Flash thief site Posted January 1st, 2007 in Game Development

That's a really weird site, they steal like every single game on NG. Seriously. They even have my crappy game on their site :P

ironically enough, I even found "The anti-ebaum tutorial" lol.

I would suggest that you a lower the alpha of the clouds a little bit. The rest looks good.

None of them. MackProductions is the best clay animator around :D

Exactly what I thought, a lot of people don't seem to realise how much effort it takes to lead a collab :/

Response to: New FPS game Posted December 31st, 2006 in Game Development

Pretty good story, kinda cliché though. But personally, I don't care much for story when I play a flash FPS game, but that's just my opinion.

Anyway, you're done with the story, you have the difficult parts left. Good luck with everything.

Response to: Smoke Posted December 31st, 2006 in Game Development

At 12/31/06 09:44 AM, UnknownFury wrote: I totally agree but Dan Paladin does more explosions than smoke and i don't think that is the type of thing that he is looking for.

Maybe, but still. There comes a lot of smoke from explosions too ;)

Another way to create smoke, if you just want to make something small like smoke from a ciggarette and alike, is to use shape tweens. It can turn out pretty cool if you do it right.

Response to: Smoke Posted December 31st, 2006 in Game Development

At 12/31/06 08:49 AM, ninjitsuwarrior wrote: How do you make smoke in flash mx 2004?

You animate it! :)

Seriously though, you don't need any fancy filters and stuff to create good smoke, just look at Dan Paladin for example. Just practice fbf and maybe take a look at how real smoke moves and you'll be able to make some awesome looking smoke in no time.

But if you going for a more realistic look you could use a couple of gradients and mess around with them and you would get a fairly good result.

Honestly, I couldn't tell the diffrence at first :P
But I agree with the others, the one you're not using is better.

Don't know what this have to do with flash though.
Response to: my game "easy win" Posted December 30th, 2006 in Game Development

I don't think it was entirely neccesary to make a thread about it though :P
You could've just written it in your authors comment.

Response to: some help on the flash process ? Posted December 30th, 2006 in Game Development

I think the best way is to write some sort of script and make a storyboard and that sorta stuff.
I never do that though, I just keep everything in my head, and that's probably one of the reasons to the constant lack of motivation I always get halfway into projects.

Response to: I´m not sure about this level Posted December 30th, 2006 in Game Development

That looks like it's going to be a swell game :)
It's visually appealing, I just hope the gameplay will be as good. Keep it up.

How's that possible? You can only submit 2 flashes a day. Did he submit with alts or what?
Or was this long ago when that rule didn't exist or something?

Link plz :)

Response to: would you blam this? Posted December 28th, 2006 in Game Development

I'd blam it, because, quite frankly, it was boring. And as someone already mentioned, if you wanted to do that, you could just use MS paint.

I'm sure you could make something better, just keep practising.

Yeah, that's pretty weird. I'm not at the popular artist list either, even though I submitted mine the 27th.

Response to: is it copying Posted December 28th, 2006 in Game Development

That kinda depends IMO. If someone made game very similar to, lets say tri-achnid, I would pretty much think it was copying since the orginal game was so unique.

But a lot of these "Defend your -whatever-" games are very alike, but not many people accuse them of copying.
