Yeah, you'd probably save money, but you'd also have to be jacked into a computer. To use it as a main phone would be ignorant, especially for emergency situations/power outages. Most cell phone plans have free long distance and you wouldn't be tied to a computer. I can't see the low cost justifying the inconvenience.

Well, then I'd ask him to be a little more specific about why he feels Paul is such a bad person. Maybe he has and you haven't gone into it here for your own reasons (which I can understand) but it seems like Bob is giving you an ultimatum with very little information to make a decision with. It could very well be that Bob is jealous of the time you spend with Paul, but there's no way to express it without feeling awkward about it.
