Games For Windows Live bullshit
I also forgot to mention that I have two "The Club" entries. I bought it for $1, seriously. Regardless of how short and "bad" that game was it was mindless fun and a bunch of achievement points for 1/8th the cost of your average xbl arcade game.
I plan on buying more GFWL games but for now the selection really blows:
Quantum of Solace
Universe At Ware: Earth Assault
Stormrise
Battlestations: Pacific
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - Colonies Edition
Gears of War
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Viva Piñata
Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2
Grand Theft Auto IV (Requires Vista)
Halo 2 (Vista)
Shadowrun (Vista)
None of which, with the exception of Fallout 3, are really compelling. Dawn of War isn't my type of game, Viva Pinata was a great game, but who's really going to buy that for PC? Gears of War is still a "headline" name even after this long? It's a joke, they just don't have enough of a selection. At least they'll have Street Fighter IV some time in the future, not that I'll be buying it anytime near it's release, but I wouldn't mind buying it all over again for some new competition and re-earning a few achievements.
I hope they don't decide to drop this line of games even though it seems to be dead in the water; it's really neat and they've done a great job integrating the xbox live interface in (I can send pictures and voice just like anybody else, and I can read and view any message as well.) Ever since I built myself a new computer pretty much every decent looking game that came out across all prominent platforms was rented on my 360 and later bought on PC (if it impressed me) for the sake of mods and just to have it in my collection. With GFWL I just have the added bonus of achievement points.
