And on an unrelated note, you should NOT be in this forum if you're only 11 years old. This is waaay too mature for you.

ha ha, I know. Everyone tells me that.

traditional animators Posted April 2nd, 2010 in Animation

I just started making traditional animation and realized: it is almost a dead art. Are computers really that convenient? The only people I know making it are barfquestion and hayao miyazaki (for anyone who doesn't know who he is, he made spirited away. don't know what that is? go here and here) other than that, it's almost gone. So, which do you like? traditional or computer/flash animation? (no 3d, I don't want to go there.)
if you guys know of any other traditional animators that are still making it that way, can you leave their names in the comments? thanks!

I know this might be more suited for the animation forum, but I'm not looking for help or anything. I just started making traditional animation and realized: it is almost a dead art. I need ideas! Posted February 27th, 2010 in General

Hi! I'm starting a new animation, but I can't come up with any ideas for it. Do any of you have any ideas, restrictions or suggestions of what it should be about?

Response to: my first complete animation! Posted February 27th, 2010 in Animation

I don't have an icon or a name yet. did you like it?

my first complete animation! Posted February 27th, 2010 in Animation

I've been working on this for 2 weeks non stop, and I'm only 11. This is my first animation that I think is decent. I just want some feedback and if anyone has a name, I need name ideas too. planning on putting it on newgrounds sometime this week. Thanks! http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/aa0c 33051076c212764b6dccba1b6706

I agree, but it took me awhile to save up for this.

Can't wait till tomorrow... Posted February 23rd, 2010 in General

tomorrow I'm getting the bamboo pen tablet I ordered a couple days ago. It'll be great because for the past couple of months I've been making art and animating with my netbook's mouse pad. And it looks totally awesome. see?
so what do you guys think of tablets?

Can't wait till tomorrow...

Response to: my first real animation Posted February 21st, 2010 in Animation

thanks! It's still not very good though.

what tablet should I get? Posted February 21st, 2010 in General

I need a tablet and I am mainly an animator and artist. I am trying to decide whether I should get the bamboo pen, which is 70$ and includes a pen and corel painter or the bamboo which is 100$ but has pen and multitouch (multi touch would pretty much replace my laptop mouse pad) and comes with photoshop 7, but I have photoshop 8. I'm thinking the pen, but what do you guys think?

I just can't really find a way to improve drawing. even though I practice everything looks the same.

how about have colored vertical pillars going across with one character wielding their sword inside of each of the pillars. kinda cliche, but it always looks nice.

my first real animation Posted February 21st, 2010 in Animation

Hi! This is the first animation that I've spent all of time and effort in. It's not done yet but I think it's coming out rather well. I'm 11 and I started this a week ago. What are your opinions on it? I really want to get your opinions! heres the link: http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/968e 7ae5732c3b122328aaef81c268e5

Response to: Looking for a Good Program to Start Posted February 21st, 2010 in Animation

you could get liveswif, which is pretty much flash 6 for free. It's kinda dated, but it's free and can export as swfs. (swf is the flash format) link: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Li veSwif-Lite-Download-79356.html

it takes some time to install, it's more complex, and it doesn't export as an swf (not that I know of) but this pretty much the same quality as flash. It's really professional and it's available for windows, mac and linux. It's free, also. link: http://www.synfig.org/en/download
