That's what they are. The last real Monarchies with any power used to be Russia and France.

At 9/23/09 06:38 AM, Korriken wrote: Japan? England? you call those monarchies? I could die of laughter.

Please do. I know how their system work. As them being figureheads. But that's the system. They still have Monarchies by definition. For Japan, especially. Especially back in the Meiji Era of the country. There was no Prime Minister to make decisions. It was the Shoguns.

far as Iran goes, they're a shining example of why a theocracy is not a good thing.

Italy and America has bouts of Theocracy to certain extent. Italy has the Pope. While America has it's bouts with the Holier Than Thou Syndrome that nearly killed off the Republican Party. The use of Religion and Belief to get elected. It's a colorful mix. As I said before, every country has it's forms of Democracy as earlier pointed out. Although some delve in others. Especially since Nepotism is a trait shared by almost all countries. Simple.

How hard is it to understand? Democracy doesn't always work out for nations, especially if they are being forced into it. You have Nations that fall under Theocracies, and Monarchies. They are able to think for themselves, for the most part. Minus a few freedoms here and there that American's have. England seems to being doing fine under a Monarch followed by Japan. Iran also seems to be doing fine, granted inner turmoil. What they call Democracy they got from the States. Having been there before in the 50's. I believe.

Each nation I suppose has Democracy, you just have to remember how each Nation plays the term, Whether it's under Authoritarian Rule, Monarch, or a Theocracy. Simple.

Winning is pointless when it comes to this topic. Because even after, what the hell do you have to show for it except for the fact that our resources are tapped. If anything for the people that stay glued to these topics. One of the goals of this "War" on the other side was to do just that. To keep spending money on something that will more than likely turn into a stalemate later.

No matter was the US is trying to do over there, is moot now. Especially since all attention has been diverted elsewhere since 2003. That wasn't a smart move since the troops that were there were underutilized then. Now that attention has shifted back six years later with these two wars tapping resources and life as expected. No one wins this. It's going to end like the Korean War did. Bloody stalemate. A nation can never win against man's Religion and belief. It took 4 or 5 nations to figure that out that hard way. Oh well, whatever. Not like anyone really pay's attention to history since it keeps repeating itself.
