Yes, good logic.
I'd probably listen to the James Galway version of Riverdance
I liked the part that rhymed. That was funny.
Woah, craziness... I could never imagine sleeping through whole days >.<
I can't sleep past 10 hours without waking up with back problems or headaches... and I definately wake up since I take a leak right after.
For most people who age, the neck gets slightly thicker.

Though I may not agree with what Foamy says, it's not like ill will press MADE any of the supporters agree with him. The supporters are all people who have the responsibility to think on their own and they made the conscious choice to agree with him, just like you made the choice not to agree with him. He's been putting out his opinion this whole time, and it surprises me that only this particular one makes him out to be a "self-rightous S.O.B".
Now if you want to argue about one frame animation making a 3.71... well... that's also the supporter's doing too. People have a right to post flash movies... it's just about the voters who vote on them.

People who find faults within their own country are not necessarily unpatriotic, or in our case, "anti-American". It's good to be aware of the things that your country does. And naturally, you'll find things that you don't like. It doesn't necessarily mean that you hate your country, it just means that you realize that it's not perfect, and there are things that you'd like to see changed.
America is supposedly a country of free speech. Some of the reasons why a particular viewpoint is popular, such as "anti-war" is perhaps maybe they offer convincing arguments or facts, or it's just what people want to hear. If you want your viewpoint heard, you'll have to come up with an argument that people will listen to.
we buy a lot of imported matrial from around the world, making economies better.
If you're that interested, then look up what we sell to other countries in exchange.
we invade i iraq and instead of making it u.s. territory we give it back and help clean it up, our soldiers are giving their life for you.
Again, if you're interested, look up which middle Eastern countries that we're allies with and the history of Bush administration's relationship with Saddam Hussein.
not to mention the countless times we have deployed troops to help another country fend off invaders.
I may be wrong, but it sounds like you think America did it out of the kindness of its own heart. The many times America interfered is not without controversy. The Vietnam War has many arguments for and against. Either way, you should be aware of the circumstances in which America decided to send troops.
now i know that we have our share of flaws and problems, but name 1 country that doesnt. just give it a rest, you may complain about us but sit down and really think what would happen if we where not on your side.
It's not enough to just know that we have problems. You have to know what the problems are. Whether you agree with Bush or not, love America or don't, it's important to be aware of the circumstances and judge from that.
It's slightly corny at times but overall it's a very well-made game.
Again, my personal favorite is the battle system.
Snow if I'm not living there... otherwise, rain.

And if they were losing supplies and such, Japan could have been even more economically devistated then it was after dropping the bombs. And without the dropping of the bombs, contiuned firebombing of the country from US bombers would have continued, and many many more cities would have been simply destroyed by that.
Going off this logic of losing supplies and the firebombings, it would hardly take more than a year.
This argument could go either way.
At 8/6/05 12:30 AM, Sir_Snark wrote: A full fledged invasion would have completly and totaly wiped out the country worse than it was when the war ended. Thousands more would have probably lost their lives, and it would be just as bad, if not worse then the bombs being dropped.
We needed a way to stop the war, and we found one that would work with the least amount of casualities. And we went for it. That's it.
Japan was losing. They were running out of supplies (because trade with America had ceased). It was only a matter of time before they would either starve or surrender.
The A-bomb was cost-effective and ended the war immediately. But as far as it having "less casualties", waiting it out is more logical.

This is an interesting, logos-induced argument. But then, you combine it with this:
Yes, it's terrible that so many innocent cicilians died, but Japan is not so innocent itself. They commited terrible attrocities when they invaded China shortly before WWII, slaughtering entire villages of chinese. [link, link ]
The Chinese lost approximately 3.22 million soldiers. 9.13 million civilians died in crossfire
Your final argument basically says, "stop bitching, it happens". Then, your previous, ethos-induced arguments say, "Have some sympathy for the Chinese, damnit!"
more civilians were killed by Japan in China than were killed by the US.
True. But if you want to make it into a contest, look up the history of Africa!
Either way, some people are right... I'm getting bored arguing about stuff that happened 50 years ago.

Actually, the A-bomb ended the war QUICKLY. Japan would have had to surrender EVENTUALLY. Their main import came from the Americans. Without supplies (and Japan was definately suffering from foot stipends) they were eventually going to wear down. Not to mention that Japan was already losing badly.
The A-bomb ended the war, but it wasn't THE ONLY way to end it. If the Allies waited it out, they would have had to surrender.
(Where do you think Japan got its weapons and its supplies? Or other countries that hate America for that matter. America sells foreign countries their weapons. Commadore Perry's ships ensured that trade from and to Japan was mainly from America. How did Japan get so many weapons? Who did they trade with the most?)
They were crazy and would not surrender they had to be taught a dramatic lesson.
Well, that is a matter of opinion. Some say the lesson didn't need to be TOO dramatic since Japan was losing and their supplies were waning with trade with America. No telling who's right.
They would have done the same to us in a heartbeat if they had the atomic bombs and not us...
Maybe.

If you visit the memorial and you talk with the victims of the bombing, they'll tell you that the theme and the goal is to make sure that IT NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN.
Of course they were angry right after the bomb went off. They watched their families die horrible deaths and thousands of peoples' skin melting off their bodies. Tell me who wouldn't aimlessly blame the parties responsible right after it happened?
But later on, they figured out that they can't help what happened in the past and that the right thing to do was to make sure that it never happened again. Not blaming people. It was the theme of the memorial.
1. Japan sided with the Germans, the BAD side
Good or bad in wartime...?
4. The US warned Japan that they had a "secret weapon" they'd use against them. (da bomb) The Japanese government just ignored them.
Well, I had to look up the subject. There are arguments saying that the US hadn't really warned them enough just because the US was itching to use it. They did seem pretty convincing but I dunno... it's a matter of opinion.
I'm not trying to say your opinions are wrong, it's just that you seem kinda misinformed that's all. Especially about the "japanese shouldn't blame US" part. Talking to the victims actually shows that they've taken on a much more mature viewpoint on it...
RIP Japanese civilians of the bombing.
Yes.
Interesting how you linked freedom and violence... it seem sorta like a paradox.
But yeah, I've been to the Hiroshima memorial too. It kinda made me sick afterward...
