I've got a decent job as the youngest manager at a fast food place (Pizza Hut), have my own place, and my own car ('87 Jetta). However, my girlfriend is living in Germany right now, and recently all the people I grew up with in high school have moved away as well, leaving me in this boring town. What's my life looking like?

Please, before anyone posts anything even vaugely similar to this comment, lets be clear that it has now already been said, shouldn't have to be said again. This thread isn't about penises or compensation or other psycobabble.

Drive a Dodge? You're a jerk. Posted October 8th, 2004 in General

What is it about newer Dodge pickups (after 2000) that make people who are normally decent act like complete douchebags? In the past week alone I have almost been run over a grand total of seven times, all by Dodge pickups. I've also seen these trucks occupying three spaces or more on numerous occasions.

Is it the feeling of being one of the biggest things on the streets, or something Dodge puts in the air condtioning system? If you do drive a newer Dodge pickup, think about what the hell you're doing before you cut off some kid in a Volkswagon and kill someone.

Sorry, my next thread will be way better.

Buzzword? Posted October 5th, 2004 in General

Ok, I'll admit it, now I'm just being a shameless forum whore.
Just wanted to know if my little "pop voting" will ever catch on as a buzzword. (and just cuz i'm a moron, who locked my last thread?)

The problem "mayor," is that people aren't voting what their opinion is, but what the majority is telling them to vote. People are afraid to post critical replies because they might get flagged as abusive, even if they aren't. We need to stop the pop voting, with people voting consistent 5's for stupid submissions, and consistent 0's for artists they just don't like. What if people could vote for Bush everyday? (Oh noes! Politics!) We might have him for another four years! Holy Crap! There are other voting buttons besides 5 and 0 for a reason people, use them.

The battle might not be lost. I made a more specific thread with a more noticeable title post. Check "Stop Voting 5!" to continue this thread anyone feels the need. We just need to make people aware.

God I feel like a hippie crossed with a crusader, what with the totally righteous cause and all.

Stop Voting 5! Posted October 5th, 2004 in General

This is a follow up to my previous post about 5-7 studios, which, with the help of some ample minds, escalated the topic the pop artist voting.

Here's the deal: Why do some artists put up crappy flash that get daily feature? Because they are pop artists. Why do some great or inventive flashes go totally unnoticed? Because they are first submissions by first-timers to NG, so people won't go near them with a ten foot stick, simply because of bias.

Crappy flash that got daily feature:
"I'm the Monster"
"Tips for Cosplay"

Decent flash that was ignored:
"Skeletor's Stroll"

Let me know what you think.

Response to: 5-7 studios Posted October 5th, 2004 in General

Look everyone, we just have to get the word out. This is bigger than 5-7 studios. This is about not telling an author that they made a crappy flash because they have more submissions than you and you are afraid of getting flamed. Or you think that since all their other flashes got daily feature or pick of the week that their latest deserves it too, and then you vote 5 WITHOUT EVEN WATCHING THE SUBMISSION. This has gotta stop.

Response to: 5-7 studios Posted October 5th, 2004 in General

I know what you're talking about, and I don't like it. These guys shouldn't be getting awards just because they're prolific authors. They should be getting good criticism and listening to it so they can improve their flash. I think that they can do much better, but their latest hasn't been that great.

If Krinkels pumped out a shitty movie (god forbid), we'd tell him, right?
Or would we all vote 5 because he's Krinkels?

You want a link, you lazy asses? Fine.

Here's "I'm the Monster," now should I call someone to wipe your ass too, or do you think you can handle it?

Who else thinks that these guys aren't as good as they say they are?
I don't see why so many people comtinue to give their flash animations daily feature, when they are only mediocre compared to everthing else on Newgrounds? "I'm the Monster" was garbage.

And please don't flame saying that I can't criticize because I don't have any flash. I know the amount of work that can go into a flash animation, but these guys aren't up to par in my opinion.

Response to: Fable Posted October 4th, 2004 in General

Fable is a really good buy. Although it seriouly lacks in the length of a regular RPG, it makes up in it's replayability. I stongly suggest a purchase my friend.
