After the level assault on the control room, yes. It is pretty much like the other two, flood wise. After about the middle you have to fight them until the end. The only good thing about Halo CE is that they all have much dumber AI than in the sequals. But if you are seriously afraid of the flood, I don't think you are mature enough to play the games, in my opinion.
