Excellent idea, but I would wait until a few days after the car deal... just to solidify things.

Good luck with everything.

What do you mean I "may be right on this one?"
I'm 100% right on this. I'm a bit tired of people making blanket statements on this thread without having the knowledge to back it up.

This is the same type of thing that has been going on this thread all along. "catholiks r big0tz who r4pe little boyz."

Give me a break.

Here in America we have freedom of religion. We allow everyone to exercise it... or not to. Catholics, or Christians in general, are not all high-and-mighty - some of us just take our faith seriously. And in my eyes it would be hypocritical if I met someone who didn't.

Bush, like most Protestants, view Catholics much like the rest of the Christians on this very thread do, with a little apprehension. He went against the Pope when the Pontiff spoke against invading Iraq. The only stance he really shares is pro-life, and that's more of a logical view than a religious standpoint.

Like I said earlier, let's just respect our differences and end the discussion. Name calling doesn't get us anywhere.

Um... yes he is

Gentlemen, Bush is a Protestant. Generic Christian. Otherwise, he wouldn't make it far in politics in the great state of Texas, and we'd know about it clearly from the news because they would refer to him heavily as Catholic, not as Christian.
See JFK and Kerry.

Response to: Why Do People Hate Catholics? Posted May 5th, 2004 in General

Well thanks for trying, Halley.

I'm attending Catholic Seminary (to be a Priest) in the fall. You sort of get used to the jokes and stuff, and utilize it as an opportunity to learn how to better work with people - perhaps even educate if you get lucky.

I have a good friend who's been a Priest for a long time, and he always tells me how times are changing. He'd go to the grocery store and people would say, "Hey Father, how're you?" Now they do occasionally, but instead he mostly gets glances.

Because I'm a Seminarian doesn't make me any different of a person, contrary to popular belief. Hell, I go on the Newgrounds BBS to post, even though there is probably a slight anti-Catholic bias. I even chuckled at a few of Elfer's sigs (A winner is Iceberg...) while I tended to disagree with a few others, one especially (on the altar). But of course that's perfectly natural. It's controversial stuff.

All we can do, Halley, is respect the opinions of the people on the BBS. If they are set with what they see on South Park and hear misrepresented on the news, that's fine. We can only pray that at one point in their life they will attempt to search for what makes them spiritually fulfulled, and they give us a chance. If they want to ask questions, even better.

It's a personal philosphy of mine not to press anything on anyone. That usually backfires.

God Bless, guys. Happy Cinco de Mayo.
