problem with mailer Posted October 20th, 2007 in Programming

Hi,
I'm trying to use a mailer script i got off kirupa, but for somereason it wont work.

I've got a pahe called mailer.php with the following code in it

<?PHP
$to = "test@madlyinsane.com";
$subject = "mail from madlyinsane";
$headers = "From: madlyinsane";
$forward = 0;
$location = "";

$date = date ("l, F jS, Y");
$time = date ("h:i A");

$msg = "Below is the result of your feedback form. It was submitted on $date at $time.\n\n";

if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == "POST") {
foreach ($_POST as $key => $value) {
$msg .= ucfirst ($key) ." : ". $value . "\n";
}
}
else {
foreach ($_GET as $key => $value) {
$msg .= ucfirst ($key) ." : ". $value . "\n";
}
}

mail($to, $subject, $msg, $headers);
if ($forward == 1) {
header ("Location:$location");
}
else {
echo "Thank you for submitting our form. We will get back to you as soon as possible.";
}

?>

and then a .html document with the following code in it

<form action="mailer.php" method="post">
Your Name: <input type="text" name="test"><br>
Your Email: <input type="text" name="email"><br>
Your Message:<br> <textarea name="message" rows="5" cols="30"></textarea><br>
<input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit">
</form>

the page comes up to confirm the message has been sent, but when i check my inbox, there's nothing there. As you can probably tell im a complete noob to web design, ill really appreiciate any help with this

thanks

I figured that, but wasn't sure, i don't want to get in trouble, some producers takere producing music really seriously and sue for loads. but does using a part of a song in flash count as re-producing, i mean im not earning any profit from that particular animation, and its not like poeple can download the sound track for it, if they want to hear the music they have to watch the animation.

using music in flash Posted October 20th, 2007 in Audio

Hi,
is it o.k to use labeld music in my flash, if i dont use the whole track, and i credit the author?

Can i put flash from newgrounds on my site as long as i have the authors permission?

put swf's in a template Posted October 20th, 2007 in Programming

Hi, im making a website for my flash, and was wondering if there was a code wich when a link was clicked for an animation or game, the swf would be loaded from a directory folder, and put into a template, rather than having loads of pages for each seperate swf.

Response to: link two swf's of different FPS Posted October 14th, 2007 in Game Development

Im not sure if it would work, but export the swf running at 30 fps (we'll call it "movie1.swf")

then in the fla running at 24 fps, goto the scene where you want the 30fps movie to start and put this code in the first frame

loadMovie("movie1.swf",1);

make sure bith swf's are saved in the same folder, then run the 24fps one, and see if it works.

Hi,
I've just got a new computer, and wanted to install Flash CS3 on it, i bouthit it from the adobe website when it was first released, but now when i try to view my registered products it keeps asking me to log in again, and when i try to re-log in nit keeps telling me my user name password combnination is wrong, and i know it isn't. I've never tryed to re-download flash since i got it, so im not even sure im doing it right by trying to view my registerd products. Any body know what im doing wrong?

Thanks

P.s. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, i just figured that because it was to do with flash it would belong here, even though its not flash techniques.

Response to: Emos > Nerds Posted October 10th, 2007 in General

Things That Group Nerds Together:

Shit Hair

O.k, would you like to describe the hair style that EVERY geek has, granted a few of them may have it, but atleast we dont ALL have exactly the same hair

No Fashion Sense

O.k, so your saying just copying other people gives you fashion sense?

Newgrounds BBS Posts > 10,000 when theyve only been members for like a year

Look at my post count

Make posts on the internet trying to make themselves look better

Haha are you joking, look at the post you made "emos>nerds" if thats not trying to make yourself look better, then what is?

Also, i like the way you've only challenged a few of the origonal points i made, it shows you have SOME sense in not saying that nerds slit thier wrists to.

Response to: Flash CS3 movieclip export Video Posted October 10th, 2007 in General

why does it need to be exported as a video clip?, do you need to put it on a dvd or somthing?, if not put it on a .exe projecter file

O.k, have you ever realised that you can just look at any emo and know thier an Emo straight away?, Whereas you cant tell somone is a nerd unless you really know them as a person? Also, the only thing that groups nerds together is smartness, wheras things that groups emo's together;
Hair
No-Fashion sence what so ever
Depressive
Scars on the wrists
Myspace page has 12,000 friends (When you know they have only every met 10 of them)

Response to: Clint Eastwood Vs Chuck Norris Posted October 10th, 2007 in General

Oh yeah, and to people who claim things like "Chuck Norris doesn't have to use a gun, he just points his fingers and says bang, and people die", Thats a rumor, if thats the case when Clint Eastwood squints his eyes everybody in a 5 mile radius drops down dead!

Clint Eastwood Vs Chuck Norris Posted October 10th, 2007 in General

O.k. Today in collage we were making up hypothetical fights between people, ande deciding on who would win, it was fun untill somone brought up this one "Who would win in a deathmatch between Chuck Norris and Clint Eastwood". This started a HUGE arguement, so im asking you, who do you think will win? and why?

Personally my money would be on Clint, Chuck Norris's round house kicks are no match for Clint Eastwood's quick draw!

Otherwise you can upload the other SWF to your server and make a 'crossdomain.xml' entry (Google please). But that will kill your server if it gets any popular.

ok thanks for the advice

using loadmovie on newgrounds Posted October 9th, 2007 in Game Development

Hi,
Ive got an animation with a loadmovie code on it, for those of you who dont know what that is, its when you load one swf into annother. Anyway, obviously when i come to upload that file to ng, the code wont work, because it cant load the other swf (because its not going to be in the same location as the main swf), is there a way i can upload both files as one file, or is there any other way round this?

Thanks
