differences in student edition Posted February 27th, 2008 in Game Development

Hi, i was wondering if there is any difference between the flash (and other all other Adobe software, like photoshop, dreamweaver etc) professional package, and the student package?, Other than the water mark, and not being allowed to use it for commercial reasons.

cheers

any one here playing "The game"? Posted February 26th, 2008 in General

Hey,

I've been on newgrounds for a while, and I've never (maybe through sheer luck) seen a post about "The Game" which is surprising, seeing that it's all over the net these days.

Anyway, the rules of "The Game" is to forget that your playing "The Game" if you remember that you're playing "The game" you have to announce to everyone round you that you just remembered "The Game", therefore making anyone round you who is playing loose (as it reminds them of the game), then anyone who isn't playing has the rules explained to them, and then they also start playing. You now have no choice by reading this you have just lost/started playing "The Game"

sorry to anyone who I reminded that was on a long streak.

event sound quality Posted February 24th, 2008 in Game Development

Hi,
Does anyone know of a way to get the quality of event sound with streaming sound? I find streaming sounds sort of crackly and muffled.

Thanks

Conversion after exporting Posted February 19th, 2008 in Game Development

Hi,
I've made a few animations that I've converted to .Mov, the .Mov plays fine, but if i try to convert the .Mov to .Mp4 or try uploading it to youtube, the frame rate shrinks dramatically, some times so the animation just looks like a really poorly made slide show. The strange thing is some animations work fine, but others don't. Does any one have any idea whats going on?

Lol, actually it will be a "crappy Midi runoff" (budget :S) but thanks for the help :D

classical music Posted February 15th, 2008 in Audio

Hi,
I'm making an animation for commercial use, and i was wondering if i would need to pay royalty's if i use classical music. The music i'm thinking of using is Bach's Toccatta and fugue.

Full, full screen Posted February 7th, 2008 in Game Development

Hi,
can anyone hep me with a code which make an swf full screen, but full screen to the extent that it covers the start bar in windows, and the dock in windows, and to also hide the close and minimise buttons on the window, sort of like a powerpoint presentation does?

cheers

Thanks for all the help guys, but it's not a problem now. The site was for a college assignment, but my teacher said to leave that part out as there's o marks avaliable for it.
But the info you gave me is good to know for the future.

Maybe you should try those anchor frame labels?

The problem isn't in flash, it works fine when i test it within flash (the buttons change when they are clicked), the problem is when its put onto the site, when you click a button the site goes to the page the button is linked to, but then the swf re-loads on the new page so the button doesn't change.

Don't re-load flash Posted January 23rd, 2008 in Programming

Hi,
I've made a nav-bar for my site in flash for my site, I've made it so the button linked to the page im on is a different colour to the rest. The problem is, when I test it, when i click a button, it takes me to the correct page, but the button does not change colour because the nav-bar re-loads on the page

I can use F5 to refresh browser windows but i have to hold down the Funtion key at the same time, as F5 also controlls volume.

New keyframe Posted October 30th, 2007 in Game Development

I have been using flash on windows for about 18 months now, and i feel a complete idiot for asking this complete noob question, but i can't figure this one out.

Last week I got a Macbook pro for collage, I have to make a flash preasenation, so im using flash and ive gone to hit F6 to make a new key frame and all that happens is num lock comes on, I've googled it and every page ive looked at says F6 for a new keyframe, but that doesn't work for me, nether does F7 for a blank key frame.

Anybody know what i have to do?

p.s., im also having problems finding how to open the scenes panel on Mac as well

26? I must have entered somthing wrong there lol, and to the guy who asked if i entered the wep key, yeah i have tryed it again twice, then loged onto my router settings on my p.c to check i was entering the right code which i was, then re-entered it copying it exactly from the router settings.

I can't connect to wireless Posted October 22nd, 2007 in General

O.k, ive just got a new mac book for collage, I've just gone to connect to my home wireless connect, the connection name comes up, so i know its picking something up, its also picking up that i need to enter a wep key, but when i try to connect, nothings happening, all my P.C's connect o.k, but my friends macbook couldn't connect to my router either.

I'm using D-link Dsl g604t for my router, ands it security is set to wep (64 bit), and my authentication type is set to open.

I've tryed to find an answer on google, but all people were saying was set authentification to open, then restart ap, which i've done and its still not working,

any ideas?

Could my host stop php working? Posted October 21st, 2007 in Programming

Hi,
For ages now ive been trying to use php to make an e-mail form for my site, I dont really know what im doing, so ive just been using ones off of tutorials and such, then chaning the e-mail adress for the reciever, butive tryd loads and none of the work so im thinking could the problem be that my server wont let it work? Im using Streamline.net and ive got the unlimited package, or is the problem just me?
