I really like this one. Now I could philosophy for quite some time about how I admire this ones calmness in contrast to the other, usually much more dynamic drawings in this thread. But in the end.... I just like it very much.
This thread is still going great after more than 6 pages. Good job!

Am I doing it right?
I am not going to lie here. As you noticed already, it will be difficult to find many artists with the right skill and commitment to join your team for free. But there are several things you could consider to increase the already low chance of getting your group of artists together. The main issue is to get people interested in the content of the project. I think some people might like to work on an RPG and see their art in a proper game.
First off, you mentioned that you could show some concept art. Do this, it's important to know what direction you are going for.
I can understand that you want to keep all details secret if possible, but that's hard to maintain if you want others to work with you as your buddies basically instead of as paid employees. Maybe you could leak some details about a very original monster / character, so people think "Hey that sounds cool, I would like to draw that one". I mean, there is little allure to drawing a generic knight or elf. And from experience, most users around can filter out serious projects from pipe dreams. Of course you believe in your project, but it's more difficult to make others believe in it.
A share of a possible profit should be taken for granted if you ask me. It would be a dick move to let others do a relatively huge portion of work just to keep all the personal profit for yourself. Think about it and discuss that with your partners, please. Of course you never know IF you make any profit so it sounds like an empty promise, but it really is a little better than nothing.
One thing you could offer is also a free copy of the book (digital or printed if that happens).
You said you don't want to have any debts to anyone and that's why you didn't look for sponsors so far. You should however take a look at this website: http://www.kickstarter.com/
If you manage to set up a good kickstarter project and manage to offer some reasonably interesting prizes/bonus contents, you could fund some good start-up money. Look at other people's projects first to get a hang of it first. This could also make it easier for you to talk to possible publishers or investors in the future, because if you honestly EVEN CONSIDER getting it distributed as print version on a professional level someday, there will basically no way around talking to some of these. Just saying.
I respect how well you handled critics so far and understood that these critics even have a point, too. I wish you good luck with your project and I must say you made a lucky hit with getting Zane onboard already. Maybe you get more people interested once you have some art done, too.
I noticed that it says in your profile, that you don't know how to submit your art.
Move your mouse over the pink marked button that says "Art". A menu should with the last line reading "Submit yours". Click on it, upload image, crop thumbnail in the window that pops up fill out the form, uncheck the box "This is not a sketch, please include it in the art portal" and hit the button to submit.
If you experience any trouble with this, you can come here to ask. But if you have technical problems and need help, please tell us what browser you are using.
Good luck!

There's also a link to the artist's website on the bottom of the page, where you can see more of his stuff.
I thought some of you might be interested.

I think it's a cool concept actually. I'd say the actual crotch would not be visible, so you should consider filling it with the pant color and add a seam so it isn't completely plain.
About the lines, it looks like you're using the pencil tool, but instead you should use the brush tool. If I am wrong, then the only other things i can think of to get rid of the pixelated edges is to work on a much higher resolution before resizing to the required size and save as png instead of jpg.
I must say it's a remarkable improvement from your other attempt. I'm curious to see this coming along further. Good job.

It's not necessary because most users post these kin of links in their signatures or on their profile.

This turned out pretty cool. I like the searchlights in the background and of course how you worked out the details on the character. You could try some antialiasing, but honestly I like it the way it is too.
Totally forgot to vote for you before. Fixed this mistake just now. Thanks for the bump.
I like how you made them look "incorporated" into the shirt. The technique with the color scheme sounds great. I first thought it was all vector art, very clean and crisp. Nice!

You should however make clear they are WIPs. At least that avoids confusion. Good luck!

But it's your collab so it's only a friendly suggestion, you don't have to actually do it. I guess too much quality control can in turn minimize the amount of participants so I think I can understand your point of view.
Good luck! I hope you win many awards with this collab.
I think Spagz was maintaining a good kind of quality control so far, dunno what you mean actually. Not every pic you see has been accepted if that is what confuses you. Talking about quality, why don't you join, Mr. Van Fiftyheimer?
seriously, be more active here again ^^

We can talk about switching spots or something. I have two or three other candidates, that's why I said it is hard to decide for one. No prob for me.
And yeah Test, yours came out pretty really cool.

Since the redesign my browser crashes when I want to include a picture with a post while another flash application (e.g. chat) is running in another tab. It works fine when there is no flash application running. - Firefox 10.0.2, Windows Vista, Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.62
I think I also found a bug with the "Under Judgement" section.
When you visit the profile of a user whose game / movie is under judgement, you can already see the star rating. So you could basically cheat to get more or less guaranteed B+P points.
Example:
At 2 hours ago, TomFulp wrote: GOOD NEWS:
The new thumbnail info is also up and running as of yesterday - what do you think? It shows author info on the front page and scores everywhere else. Some of the genres overlap the content rating... We're still pondering the best solution there.
I really love the new thumbs, the whole square layout look pretty neat and I am glad the short descriptions are back.
Talking about scores everywhere else, I noticed I could see the star rating for a submission that is still under judgement when I visit the user's profile and look at the latest game / movie section.
BAD NEWS:
Remember how I said we have a surprise coming on Friday? It's being postponed for a short bit, we'll just surprise you when it happens. There is still a game coming out Friday that will be a big hit so show up for that!
Surprise surprises are more surprising than announced surprises anyway.
CONTEST NEWS:
Aigis has announced the winners of Comic Jam 2!
Great news, congrats to the winners! Gotta check all the submissions out as soon as I have enough time.
I should really be reminding people that we ARE doing Pico Day this year on April 28th. I need to sort out what the prizes will be, they might be kinda low-key this year.
As long as it's still called Pico Day I am fine. :P

I like the drawing itself a lot and the changes you made worked out pretty well too. But I kinda disliked the text from the beginning and to me it looks even more distracting since you moved it to the center. I didn't post yet, since I couldn't think of a better solution as of yet. Did you try a hand-drawn text yet? I can't even think of a more suitable font. Maybe some artist who knows more about design / composition / layout can help more specificly or maybe it's just me who thinks it's off. I am not sure.

Whoever complains about movies and games being separated should remember when the TIME magazine listed NG as one of the top 50 websites and focused solely on games. It was a bit disappointing, wasn't it? (even though it was great that the site was on that list in the first place, of course)

It's the pic Flowers10 drew for the AVAT. I thought some might be interested. I was wrong.
Hey Tom, I would love to continue working on those icons. You can demod me once all icons are done. Let's not slow down just because the redesign is out.
At 7 minutes ago, TomFulp wrote:
That is something we talked about during development - having splashy front pages for the hubs but more subdued pages for the content. Hopefully we'll get that going as we gather up more skins!
More skins ftw!! :D
I also have a suggestion. When a thread in the BBS has multiple pages the numbers below show like "1 2 3 4....251... 489". But many times you will want to check the second or third to last page, e.g when you have been away or the thread just reached the next page. So it would be better if it would show like "1 2 3 4... 251... 487 488 489". I think basically like it was before. I know it's just one more click to get to the desired page, but still.
Also, liljim was right, I miss the "post reply" button without the quote without having to scroll up. But maybe I am just spoilt by the previous comfort. lol
Great job. Thanks to all you hard working staff folks for the new design and the new features.

In the mean time here an update on the Purple Victorian (even though I wonder why I had to resize it twice in order to upload it ).
This is coming along great. I really love the colors. I guess you had to resize due to the 200k upload limit.
