It is, indeed!

I promise some easier ones after that. But we got so close.... think of something in a door that could be used as peephole, but is not really a peephole.

now i almost give it away

That is really really close. But it's simpler.... a classic peephole so to say.

Response to: Luwano's Picture Puzzles Posted June 28th, 2012 in Art

It is, contrary to popular belief, not a wheel. :P

I think everyone is looking at the black part only. The brassy looking part around it is not just background however... maybe that helps.

It's interesting to read guesses and actually get what made you "see" a roll of tape, nice. But unfortunately both guesses are not correct.

Next hint: I rotated the pic clockwise.

when i hosted these puzzle pics on another site before this particlar pic took he longest. So don't give up, I believe in you!

You'd do much better to take your questions to a forum/business that has experience. Much, much better.

Good luck with it!

I don't want to come across rude either, but you obviously don't know many of the regular users around and did neither realize that the thread is rather old nor read the rather reasonable advice by Kinsei and Spags. The art forum ranges from absolute beginners over hobby artists to professional artists and freelancers from various working fields. But as mentioned, the advice that has been given was appropriate, so I don't see your point.

Response to: Luwano's Picture Puzzles Posted June 28th, 2012 in Art

Sorry, no correct guess yet. As a hint, it's not only the dark thing in the center, the brassy looking stuff around with the white reflection to the right belongs to it, too.

Luwano's Picture Puzzles Posted June 27th, 2012 in Art

Welcome to Luwano's poorly photographed Picture Puzzles!

What is the point of this thread?

I took photos of different objects and it's up to you to guess what they are. The photos however, are poorly done, with my mobile phone, with the phones flashlight turned on to make things glow, shine and reflect like shit. Even worse, I zoomed in most of the time and rotated some of the photos. BUT I did not alter, manipulate or filter the pictures in any way! The funky effects are just done by my phones poor cam.

Why are you bothering us with it?

You are supposed to guess and I will keep track of your scores. Your reward? Honor and fame all over the art forum land! Rewards are possible in the future if enough people show interest.

Rules:

1) I and I alone am to decide over a correct guess. Sometimes I will be picky and ask for a more detailed answer and sometimes I will be generous and accept about everything that is remotely correct.

2) If you are the first person to make a correct guess you will get 1 point on my list. Nifty eh?

3) If you make a close guess and someone else picks up your idea and posts a correct guess, you may or may not receive some kind of "assistant point". Those are pretty much useless unless there is a draw between two users, which will then be decided by his "assists".

4) Bare with me, my english knowledge is not always perfect, if I don't get what you mean, try to explain. :P

5) Spam guessing is not allowed, posting an endless list of possible objects kinda ruins the fun for everyone.

6) Some pics are obvious, some are as unidentifiable as can be, deal with it. I am sure most of you will recognize the object once you know the solution.

I have permission from the one and only ReNaeNae herself.

---------------------------------------------

So, let's start this and see how it works out. If any more questions come up, feel free to post them here, since I most likely forgot about an important rule or two.

maybe the android logo is copyright free, idk

There is an interesting copyright rule for the android robot logo, which allows such modifications for marketing purposes, so maybe that's the reason the shirt company accepts this.

http://developer.android.com/distribute/googleplay/promote/b rand.html

As for the other shirt design, I think it's not only the Family Guy resemblence, but the fact that this idea has been done several times before with The Simpsons, The Smurfs and even Family Guy.

I can only assume though. Are you sure the design got rejected because of copyright?

You are going to add the respective colors to the parts, right? If so, what are you going to use? I think some black duct tape could make for some convincing looking cable part.

The problem is, we can't judge wether or not you need to add or remove something, can't tell you if it's bad or good, can't give you proper advice altogether as long as we can't see what you've got so far. Until you have a pic to show, the best advice is what lovingthedark said: Look at reference pictures and try to work out what it needs to look somewhat convincing.

Seriously, your behaviour is neither funny nor witty. At least YOU cared enough to waste your time writing a useless post in this thread.

@OP: As for the first pic, I appreciate the background information, because my first question would have been what the poster was for. Overall it looks well done, with the credits below and the whole layout. It's hard to give more detailed feedback since the pic is rather small due to the forum size limits.

I must admit I am not the biggest fan of anime but both promotional posters look good for the purpose they were designed for. Care to share some pixel art of the project too? I would be curious to see how the characters from the posters look in the game.
