Not a bottle nor made of metal.

Nice overview. About the metal part.. I said it does not have a "noteworthy metal part" since it has a small percentage of aluminium.

A sippy cup or baby bottle?

Nope.

It's mainly made of cardboard and a bit of plastic.

The answer would be something like "The ( ___ ) cap on a _________"

No correct guess yet. No chemical, no oil, nothing used for washing or cleaning. AND the content is less important than the kind of "packaging / boxing".

That's partially what I wanted to hear. So yeah it is some kind of cap (again), but not on a bottle neither bleach nor anything else.

Is it the knob on a washing machine?

Nope.

It's not Drano. Actually it's not chemical of any sort.

I am more interested in the kind of "container" that the cap is part of, rather than its contents.

At this point I would ask you "what part exactly" since there are (although very rare these days) horn buttons that are not integrated into the steering wheel. So yeah... that's why I would need to ask for a more precise answer USUALLY....

Sorry Sock, I am almost sure you recognized that horn symbol and that's why you said steering wheel in the first place, but the correct solution is vehicle horn button.

No, correct guess yet.

Hint: It's an object from a specific brand and with that brand's distinctive design. I googled to make sure it's known in all your home countries before posting the pic. Some site told me it's also known in Northern America, but it didn't state that it's unfortunately not known in Canada. They could have simply said USA, rather than "North America". Either way, sorry Jonny and all fellow Canadian users.

Extra hint to make up for that: It's originally a german brand.
