Its not like Rolling Stones 150 best albums of all time have ever coincided with what i considered to be the greatest albums. So ya. Live with it.

Never has there been a more true statement spoken. This is one of the reasons that I constantly vote waterlollies down and vote up other flash of Adam Phillips' I'm a particular fan of Bitey, as that one broke new ground in my view, where Waterlollies hasn't really done that much more

Well my only caveat in even my own statement is that yes let us not forget that we have a young audience in the portal voting stuff up or down. There will always be zero bombers and hardcore upvoter fanboys. Thats just the personality of the portal. Its a portal that is unforgiving and down right unfair sometimes. But its a portal we learn to love even in all its imperfections and immature audience.

I think that if you truly think Waterlollies is the best of all time you should just classify it as such in your userpage. Where you are in control :)

Yes waterlollies is old but you would be hard pressed to find anything better .

Its a shame really because NG should be advertised as a great place for aspiring artists and inspire them to do great blockbuster flash work , instead... pixel shrooms . *sigh*

It would be fucking boring if that top 50 list never changed.

The label 'best of all time' is a misnomer. Its just an algorhythm / mathematical aggregation of highly rated movies. Its not some high respected film critic or something. Movies naturally degrade over time. Waterlollies is many years old now. That doesnt discredit it as not being a quality film. Just simply that in the way that that top 50 list is setup, movies/games naturally degrade over time (their scores anyway). That actually is what is inspiring for artists. The fact that you cant just make a waterlollies and just sit on your ass expecting to be number 1 forever. Adam is working on his next installment. People are working on their own quality projects and to have the top 50 be a flexible list thats 'alive' is more motivating then seeing the same movies there for 50 years.

One of these days I'm going to be smoking out there and naked. I can only hope you guys make a thread for me.

that guy lives in my general neighborhood. I am frankly not suprised by it. We have a really old straight-laced community of white people that are very homey and old-fashioned, soccer moms and such. I remember being 'nicely' asked if it would be too much of an inconvenience for me to smoke in my back yard rather than at the doorstep of my house. That it sets a bad example to young people walking by.

I dont have any travel plans for a month so I'm going to really work on this. FOR REAL.

Heres an update. wip. Theres still some stuff i may want to move around, dunno yet. Might tweak the color palette some. On my laptop it looks great, but on my desktop the color on that monitor looks more saturated and thus maybe too subtle.

My main focus this year is cleaning out fluff. I really want less focus on what 'other' works the artist has done and more emphasis on the piece you are looking at. Detail views and such.

As for advice, i agree with what other people have said, it would be good to show the bottom of his shoe as he transfers, you see that its apparent in Richard Williams' example as well. I think that frame really sells it.

I scanned this page from Sir Richard Williams' animator's survival kit. Thought you might find it useful.

(The cut off frame on the right is just a repeat of the first one. )

i think pretty much ProfessorFlash summed up the thread.

Different people have different views on what makes something 'great'.

This is a question that will never really be answered. I dont know why people get bent out of shape about someone else feeling like it IS the greatest and someone feeling like it is not.

So after a few hours of being on the phone with Virgin Atlantic, i will lose a ton of frequent flyer miles if i dont use them by the end of the year. I've been flying with United for awhile, and i forgot i had flown a bunch of people on Virgin back in january.

Long story short, im coming over next month.... again.

I dont want to make it an 'official' meet. maybe not even a new thread.... but just whoever happens to be around, cool. I'll be around, weekend of Nov 27
