Hello review request club!

Today, I'm here on a different note, surprisingly. My question at hand:

I'd very much like to join you fellows in your reviewing of requests.

Though, as you may see, I do a poor job on reviewing flash, simply because I'm not as intrigued by it. Nowhere near as much as I am audio, so if I were to join, I would simply review the audio.

I'd very much appreciate consideration to join the fellow ranks of you guys.

I'll look into getting a distortion pedal definitely. Thanks for the ideas/suggestions.

I see that many of you really have different tastes in guitars. ( I agree with you Soro, I hate the way a les paul looks, but I'll try one out.)

Looks like I'll be spending a couple hours at my local guitar center. EEE. I'm excited. Haha.

I see many of you also have different tastes in recording... Soro also mentioned something about a tube preamp, could somebody elaborate?

I'd like to get a 7 string, but I'm thinking that would be a little above my skill level. Maybe not though.

And to answer a final question. I would say it leans towards thrash, but a band I would like it to sound like would be something like In-flames. But I also like my rock'n roll too :3

Alright, I have a few questions about heavy metal. To those of you out there that know something about it, or rather making, please enlighten me?

#1. I have a fender Stratocaster, and it's incredible, I'm just looking to buy an Ibanez. Which would be good for what I want and be under 250$ (Can be used at 250$).
#2. I've recently accquired a G-Dec 250 guitar amp, and the effects on it are totally great, but if I really wanted to boost the heaviness of my sound, how would I do so? Which effects should I use?
#3. I currently have my Guitar in Drop d. Is there anything else that would give me a more grungy sound?
#4. For recording purposes, what kind of mic should I get for heavy metal?

I'm will to spend quite a lot, so please don't worry about money, I would just like some answers if possible...
