Response to: Issues With Uploading Html5 Game Posted June 23rd, 2014 in Where is / How to?

I've checked and nothing seems wrong.

So it's been a while since I've created a game and since Games Factory 2 seems to have died, I decided to try Construct 2 which the free version is great (aside from the 100 event limit). Anyways, I created a small emotions matching game for a child I work with and wanted to upload it here for easy access. However, when I upload the zip folder, it says my index.html file needs to be in the top folder. Thing is, it does have this file in the top folder already! I have tried other browsers and turning stuff off but it still won't upload.

Please help.

I was a big fan myself. Still shocked over what happened really, but we'll all get through, those that know. There's a fundraiser for his wife going on if you google it. It's to help fund some of the funeral. It's already raised over 2000$.

So no more Game Factory or Stencyl games then?

Now that's not fair as these are just game developer programs and can be used well if one takes the effort to actual learn how to use them. What SHOULD be blammed though, of the TGF2 at least, are the Chocobreak clones and variants that people keep posting. (Unless now that has been resolved).

I'm just wondering for 2011. Who won the Treasure Hunt back in October?

Response to: Treasure Hunt 2011 Posted October 14th, 2011 in NG News

Fuck! I meant this one!

This was one posted by the clock crew recently that I think could use some more recognition. I haven't seen it part of a collection and it only has a little over 1000 views.

Excellent to hear. I love this program and since I only upload to newgrounds, it's great.

Response to: Ct/ng Halloween Contest Posted October 5th, 2011 in The Games Factory 2

I was about to start, but now I'm getting something about my TGF2 Newgrounds edition expiring in 26 days? Is there a new version coming or what's going on?

Response to: Ct/ng Halloween Contest Posted October 4th, 2011 in The Games Factory 2

Oo! I'll try. I haven't had much inspiration for games lately.

Response to: Changing Form Posted August 7th, 2011 in The Games Factory 2

No it helps. I figured out more on changing form as well. Thanks.

Changing Form Posted August 7th, 2011 in The Games Factory 2

I have a new game in development, but it has a part where my character changes form. How can I do this so that the new form will continued to be followed with the scrolling as my first attempt did not allow this.

Response to: Center scrolling? Posted July 9th, 2011 in The Games Factory 2

Nevermind. Found out I forgot to set the X and Y to both 0

Center scrolling? Posted July 9th, 2011 in The Games Factory 2

Hey everyone, long time no see.

This is just a simple question. I have figured out how to allow scrolling for a sprite, but it hugs right onto the frame. How can I make it so that the character stays at the center of the screen? I figure I will want enemies walking towards my character and getting hit while he's hugging the right is slightly cheap. Anyone?

Hey everyone. Long time no chat eh? Anyways, I'm working on a new game, and no, not Javaders II, although this one follows the same style of the 4 bit/8 bit era.

Anyways, I was trying to get an object to circle an enemy I have to act as a shiel against bullets, however, I need to use the Clickteam movement controller to do so. That much I understand; however, I don't know how to make the extension do so and I saw nothing under programming events that did so. The controller doesn't even appear unless I import it in.

So, in short, has anyone used this extension and can they please help me?

Thanks

Response to: Transitions!!! Help!!! Posted December 21st, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

I had this problem before. Flash simply can`t do the transitions. Sucks I know, but I looked it up on ClickTeam. Why they are even in there is a good question. Unless now, there is a way to do them that I haven`t found.

Response to: Wondering if this is possible Posted December 21st, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

If you go under my thread, "Aria and the Island in the Sky," there are two links to tutorials related to zelda-type gaming. They should definitely help.

Response to: Help!!! Posted December 20th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Hmm...only thing I can think of is using a string object to type the URL in. It won't link it, as far as I know. Other than that, I'm not even sure if it's possible.

Drag and Drop Problems Posted December 20th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Hi Everyone,

I've made a drag n' drop game, which was working fine in the frame and application windows, but when built, I was unable to to move anything. I thought it was simply because they were too out from the frame, but even those in the frame don't seem to work either. Any ideas what's going on? And yes, I tried moving the action points and hotspots, but still nothing.

I got the widget and that will definitely be a major help. Right now I'm working on the sprites and scrolling so thanks alot!

Response to: Delayed Shooting Posted December 17th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Hmm....have you tried adding a timer condition that 'Every', say 1 second or so, a shot is allowed to be fired? I'm not exactly sure as I haven't tried delayed shooting before so it might have something to do with values as well.

Good luck.

Response to: Aria and the Island in the Sky Posted December 17th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Problem solved as it seems that flash just simply doesn't do the transitions, but now I need some more help. I'm gonna make sure I don't go over my 10MB limit, but every RPG needs at least one song. Which one do you think suits the opening the game?

Song 3

I'm purposefully leaving out their actual titles in case of biases from some people. No offense. Of course, they will be credited in the actual credits.

Response to: Aria and the Island in the Sky Posted December 17th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Okay so first problem I've run into. I set it so to have transitions between the opening frames, but once built, nothing happens. I had it originally set under the first frame events, then as a global event. Still, nothing. Any ideas?

Aria and the Island in the Sky Posted December 17th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Hey everyone,

This is a thread for the game I am working on now alongside 'Javaders II'. It's called "Aria and the Isand in the Sky" and will be RPG based. I have the story down, but how the gaming elements are going to work I haven't figured out yet. I'm making it a slight tribute to my top 3 fave RPGs: Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, Dragon Warriors III, and all the Zelda games I've played for my handhelds.

The basic story is that a girl named Aria fell down to Earth one day before three people, Mark, a Squire, his grandfather who is a retired knight, and one that I haven't named yet who is Mark's best friend, might be one that learns magic, as in more mage-like. Aria isn't sure why she fell from her home in the sky, but she knows she must get back. Aria's memory is found in artefact's which will be discovered once they fight the first battle. I can't give away the ending, sorry. XD

I'll be posting progress, pictures, even a couple of dumps, as I want those here and of Newgrounds to help when they can.

I know it's a big endeavor on my part, as I'm an amateur at this, but taking my time should allow me to learn more about GF2 and programming, and it should be fun anyways.

Some opening questions, as they'll help me figure out the format I'll be using.
-I know about INI files now for basic saving. Does GF2 trial allow them and can I use them for Newgrounds?
-What is the smallest sound file format that GF2 can use?

Wish me luck people.

Response to: Object transparency Posted December 17th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Okay I found the tool you meant, but I have no idea how to set the level of transparency. I can't find anything there to do so.

Object transparency Posted December 16th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Hey everyone,
I'm working on a possible new game alongside the Javaders sequel in the next few months (For more info on that, see my profile) and I have an art question.

I'm trying to make moving clouds, but I need them to be translucent. I've tried the Opaceity under the paintbrush, but it only prevents me from painting. Any ideas, folks?

Response to: Problem with the randomizing code? Posted December 15th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Well, I created a new sprite called "Pet" and did to its attack button the same that I did to my hero's, but I didn't get the same result and as I'm not a master coder (Jeez, I can't even understand the A values...lol) I doubt I can figure it out. My only theory is is that when I programmed the hero, the behaviors counted the click and the end of her animation as one attack and took off alot. I can't think of anything else. It seems to be going okay now so. *Shrugs*

Response to: Problem with the randomizing code? Posted December 15th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Well it looks like that behavior had to be set up by itself, rather than grouped with the attack button. It's a wierd, wierd world.

Response to: Problem with the randomizing code? Posted December 15th, 2010 in The Games Factory 2

Hmm...maybe. I'll check it out and give an update.
