Everyone here is a goddamn sex offender. The priests, the teachers, your friendly neighbourhood cat, and that creepy old guy across the street. There's a new rape case in the paper just about every other day. There've been two rapes on my street in the past 5 years or so alone (please note that there are only about 15 houses on my street). Heh, I remember our bus route getting changed several times in 6th-7th grade because apparently we had 3 stops near convicted sex offenders' homes.

I suppose that's because there are no adult video stores here (okay, you only have to drive South for about a half hour till you hit the scum) and the shopkeeps at any other places that sell videos shriek at the sight of the likes of Brokeback Mountain or something of its kind.

No, no they do not. I hate fireworks. I'm hoping to high hell that the heavens will open up and it'll rain like hell. I can't stand the loud cracking, the dogs barking throughout the neighbourhood, any of it. It makes it incredibly difficult to concentrate on anything and going out of the house if obviously out of the question.

This place is so full of latent homosexuality it's astonishing. It's flattering, really, that we're all you people can talk about. The current council is fine. They barely get anything done as is. Someone mentioned Australia and Canada -- what the hell? Both have very small populations and weak militaries. Brazil and Japan I could see as being valid members, maybe India, Germany, France...

I think it's absolutely hilarious when the people are so afraid of being labeled as gay that they ALWAYS make room in their posts to oh-so-eloquently point out and exert their heterosexuality, regardless of which side of the argument they're on.

I'm also amazed that this thread is still alive; I honestly think homosexuality is the most popular topic on these boards. And why? Why, why, why? I don't understand why this is such a desperately important issue to everyone. Why are the personal lives of individual citizens so much more important than the bulldozing of homes in the Gaza Strip, the genocide in Darfur, the AIDS pandemic, the worldwide scourge of terrorism? I'm flattered that people are thinking of us so often, but aren't there more pressing and important matters than restricting your own peoples' rights or arguing fruitlessly trying to find some simplistic, clear-cut answer cause for homosexuality (which, by the by, you will never find because it is a far cry from simple)?
