Response to: Games that changed your life Posted February 3rd, 2010 in Video Games

Metal Gear Solid 4 was the reason I've grown some balls now. Before I had that game I was a complete coward. I dunno how it changed me, it's that I felt Snake's grief and pain in the game, and what he'd been through.

It hasn't changed my life though.
Response to: Games that broke your heart Posted February 2nd, 2010 in Video Games

Gran Turismo 5.

But on another note, a game that broke my heart would be MGS4.

The way Snake pointed the gun into his mouth, I was nearly in tears and just like "You can't fucking end it like this!"

Luckily he lived (somehow) and then I was just fine.

Response to: Mag Or Bioshock 2? Posted January 29th, 2010 in Video Games

Well, BioShock 2 it is then.

I gotta say, if MAG's getting pretty average reviews then it'll seem like it's another "Pick up and play, then stop." Then after about a month pick it back up and go on it for a day. That's what happens with the games I sorta don't have much love for.

And I've always preferred single-player over multi-player.

Response to: Ff Xiii: 360 Vs. Ps3 Posted January 29th, 2010 in Video Games

This should sway your opinion slightly - better sounding, clearer version on the PS3? Or a cut-down, multi-disk version on the 360?

Mag Or Bioshock 2? Posted January 29th, 2010 in Video Games

I'm totally stuck on what to buy.

MAG has had my attention since they showed us the 256-man game they played (I think it was at E3 or something like that) and so I think that would kick any multiplayer game's ass that is on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Since the end of BioShock, I was hoping for there to be a second one (I think a couple of you may remember my thread providing bad details) and now there is. I've been almost too eager to wait to play it at home, but the multiplayer will seem to be terrible in comparison to MAG.

So what should I get - MAG for amazing multiplayer? Or BioShock 2 for amazing single player?

Response to: Should I buy a PS3? Posted January 26th, 2010 in Video Games

First off, DON'T listen to what SilverTheHedgehog says (I think that's his name) It's the most gay fanboy opinion ever.

Anyways, the PS3 is capable of... more. Blu-Ray does look MUCH better on a big screen, you will be able to put music onto your PS3 from a burned disk (I burn some songs from my iTunes on there - Some games let you put your own music on in-game such as Wipeout HD (Fury))

Graphics aren't really different. Sure, it may run at a slower FPS (Not that much slower) but it still does look great. Some games do run at 60fps so that won't be anything to worry about (Tekken 6 is an example - Runs perfectly smooth) and some games do take advantage of the graphics (Motorstorm and Killzone 2 for examples)

Since it's Blu-Ray, the discs have more space (around 50GB to work on) And so games like MGS4, Gran Turismo 5 (when it comes out) and nearly every game that uses up a lot of disk space will never come to another console without using more than one disk (This is not being a fanboy).

It may be more expensive, but once you've found out and maybe done all the different things the PS3 offers, you'll be thinking "Wow, this thing can do a lot of stuff." This is definitely what I said after the first two months of having it.

But, you get what you want.

This worries me dearly. They better not undercut the single player campaign.

I don't think they will. Either way, there's BOUND to be DLC coming out for multiplayer.

BioShock 2 Posted January 24th, 2010 in Video Games

I'm actually in such a good mood now that BioShock 2 is alarmingly close to being released. But what's got me into this mood? Well...

- You get to play as THE protoype Big Daddy, which has plasmids like in the first, and amazing weapons.
- Killing splicers is easier. You're pretty much a tank in the game, and as always, only a large force can take it down. That's right, they're putting in Big Sisters.
- You get the option with the Little Sisters to either harvest them (You get more ADAM from them) or adopt them. You protect them, and they guide you. The only thing is that when you get the Little Sister to extract some ADAM from a corpse that has some ADAM in it, the Little Sisters end up being a magnet to a lot of splicers. A lot of splicers. It does look awesome kicking everyone's ass though.
- A new multiplayer mode. This should be interesting. A horde of people playing as splicers vs a couple of big daddy's? To me that sounds fair, but there's not been any word on what it WILL be yet.

Discuss.

(and if we're really going to break it down PS1 trumphs ALL these systems BIATCH!) PEACE.

Chris

I loved my PS1. I used to play on it until it would overheat from too much Gran Turismo 2 (Gran Turismo 2 was my absolute favourite game on there) and then I'd probably cry that it wouldn't work (I was about 6). Then... next day it works again and it'd be another five hours on it.

I still play on it, so that shows my love for it.

Response to: PS3 isn't even in the top 3... Posted January 20th, 2010 in Video Games

I'm not actually suprised about this.

- The Xbox 360 would be up there because it's cheaper meaning more people would get it and it's been out for longer.
- The Wii has the same story plus the fact that it's a family console so that isn't a suprise.
- The PS2 still has games coming out for it and it is a great console.

There isn't really much to be worried about. And this may just be in one focused area.

"How to Raise a Dragon" help Posted January 16th, 2010 in Video Games

I've got all the dragon types, dragon breaths and all the endings except for the hero and the dragon dying together. How do you get them both to die? Is it that the dragon gets weakened a lot then kills you, and then the dragon dies?

I hear it contains elements that DMC should have (like something other than slashing), and more.

The thing that sounds the best is that when the lady does some really cool moves her hair-suit leaves her totally naked. This better be true.

Response to: I get sad at game endings. Posted January 15th, 2010 in Video Games

The only game I cried at the end of was Ghostbusters on the NES and why?

My friend was all like "Oh I got an NES (2006) So I wanna see if this game works. Oh, Ghostbusters. YOU play it."

It took me five hours to finish this and went through hell to finish it. When I beat the final boss... the ending screen came up. Two spelling errors, no rewards or anything like that, 5 hours round my friends house wasting my life away... I did actually cry a wee bit.

On SVR2010 whenever "You're Going Down - Sick Puppies" plays before a WWE championship match starts, it makes me really think "Screw being able to restart or changed the belt-holder, this is a really important match and... one of us IS going down."

I only love the games, not actual WWE.

Bought it because it was cheapest out there. Then... we got a lot of stuff for it.

Until I bought a PS3...

Then gaming got better.

I was hoping you'd be talking about FEAR but... whatever then.

The music that plays when you confront the final gym leader stays in my head for... ages. Then I forget, then I stumble upon it again and then... it stays there for god knows how long.

If you want to get confused on a storyline get all the Tekken games then Tekken 6. By the time you've played through all of them you'll be thinking - "Ok, so Jin is Kazuyas... no wait... Yoshimitzu wants... hold on... if Armor King was... ugh. What the fuck is going on?"

That's exactly what I said to myself when I finished the Tekken 6 story mode thing. Which was bad.

But for GOOD storyline get either BioShock, MGS4, or Assassins creed II.
