Ok, I finally finished my storyboard for the animation I'm working on... but, I need a special effects concept artist (I *COULD* just use sprites from games, but everything else is original so far)

Ok, I need a good high res explosion (at least 3 frames), to fill the majority of the Screen, a building is being impacted by a helicopter, I already have the Helicopter Impact morphs done, but I need a good boomer

I need a good "Teleportation" graphic that I can morph a figure with that won't look retarded, 2 frames are all I need, (I can just loop them, like Town Portal in Diablo 2).. just draw a stickman and morph it with the Teleportation graphic to see if its any good (not using a stick, just a an example)... a "portal" for a "spark" effect will do, but I want to avoid "smoke" as a teleportation effect (as to not be copying Nightcrawler)

Lots of Smoke, cuz my Flash program doesn't have Fog Filters (I *COULD* just use 3d MAX *cuz I have it* and render some side views of fog, but I'm not sure how that would work

The concept art I like best will get credits in the movie

Oh... no sprites... If I wanted sprites I would just use the ones I have... and not TOO cartoony either, something realistic, to fit the mood of the movie (I should have a demo done by the end of the month)

if you like SMT: Nocturne... try Digital Devil Saga.... Protagonist is actually a secret boss in that game (hardest boss in RPG-maybe gaming history)

Since when was 7ner any good.... I usually rank an RPG by whether or not I'd play it again... ever... 7 is a big no... 8 on the other hand is much better (played through it quite a few times...)... 9er was lamer than 7 and 10er was just silly (graphical... yet silly... Tidus, I am your Fatherrr.... werg).... 10-2 was probably the worst game ever (Last time she saved the world, This time its personal... C'MON!)

Original Dragon Warrior beats all the them.... (And Dragon Warrior 4 may just be the best game ever... first RPG EVER to have monster morphs "Necrosaro")

Even SMT: Nocturne beats Dragon Warrior, and DDS is better than Nocturne (hand has the title for single hardest secret boss in RPG history... try fighting Emerald Weapon and Ruby Weapon at the same time)

But my Vote is Classic Lufia 2... You get the girl.. have a kid... AND DIE AT THE END... best RPG ever

There are also FREE alternatives.... but they mostly suck

Turbine Video Encoder is the one I use.... convert AVI's into Flash including a few PreLoaders and Overlays.... excellent for ppl who FBF back in the day of Animax Studio (an AVI maker of decent quality).... doesn't exist anymore I think....

Lock & Load is a good way to make PreLoaders if you use TVE because it encodes the PreLoader as an SWF and not an FLA so it can be used

OK: I'm making a Parody movie.... my openning Parody (20 seconds) and my ending connection (also 20 seconds) are done..... But a parody of this nature is completely Boring without some kind of Middle filler....

I'm thinking:... What would make a good FILLER:... I'm not trying to make a full movie middle segment.... just a 10-30 second filler to catch the eyes of the public

Question: What does each of the voting scores (0-5) mean to you..... while 0 and 5 are generally self-explanetory.... what kinda movie would you give 2-4 on.... what is a perfect example of a 2, 3, or 4 point voting movie.... in your opinion

Do a Google search for RPG maker graphics and you should find a few pages (like 1000) of nothing but Sprite Sheets for various RPG maker versions (RM2k3 rules)... with simple PAINT editing you can turn them into Flash sprite sheets (or maybe you don't need to convert... don't know)

If you are refering to the "Artistic" part of a stick fight rather than the technical parts then just watch good stick fights and a few bad stick fights to see what is popular and try to make one for yourself based along those lines.... EX: Xiao Xiao are very technical pieces wheras the majority of stick death movies is just Twiggy getting beaten and random blood splats

I wanted to do a stick fight Aftermath where the Hero didn't know what to do with the bodies and so he threw them into a large column and played TETRIS with the bodies (with different body poses for blocks)... and blood splats when the lines cleared... still working on it though... you can use that if you want to

I love this program... why... because the DEMO is the full version if you have the patients to render an entire song in one sitting... but other than that I like the features it has

Likewise... this is my first post in the AUDIO sub-section... what composition programs do you guys like to use (I use NoteWorthy Composer and ACID PRO... lol)

The easy way is to download "Pivot Stickfigure Animator" from

and then export the Animated GIF with a transparent background and import it into flash... then just link your keyframes... you are able to make your own Stickfigures too... I changed the "Cowboy" default so it holds a banjo for my Movie

ALSO: A tip for making Stickmovies... don't use an ALL WHITE background unless you really need to... JPEGs do not compress WHITE very well and I think thats what Flash uses...

It won't load for me... but based on the FILENAME alone I'd go with GL mansion or Mansion 250 (lol)

Nah... download the RPGMAKER name creator and flip through some randomly generated names until one starts your eyes on fire (or something)

Anyone know a good freeware art program... I'm currently using GFX2 98.5% (yes, thats what its called)... it has some good features (shading and tiling and such) but I'm looking for something a bit better

Obviously it has to be better than just PAINT... but it doesn't need to be Photoshop... something along the lines of NeoPaint but more Windows XP friendly

Ok... if you are like me and you've expired your trial period a long time ago then I got some programs for you

THESE ARE ALL FREE (Forever too)

1. Lock & Load - Used to make preloaders... is tricky to use though

2. Turbine Video Encoder - Turn AVI, WMV and stuff into .SWF with many compression options... Limited by the fact you can't use a PreLoader AND a controls Overlay at the same time unless you make one yourself. LowMotion movies compress as much as 60 kbps... yay

3. Pivot - Used to make GIF's of Stickmen

4. Flash Optimize - By Eltima... ONLY use if you don't care if your flash is in Black and White

I use those... of course... I'm not a flash animator, I just make movies and then convert them... its a bit more time comsuming but making a movie in Windows Movie Maker is pathetically easy

So... what are good Average BitRates for movies

Like... I've descided that 100kbps is a good average bitrate for LowMotion movies like stick movies... but I want to know what you guys think is good for HighMotion and Audio Intensive movies...

Same goes for audio average BitRates? 16-64? where at?

How do I get to the collections page... do I have to ask someone or do I need more points or something?... (If I need more points then just say so... my animation's not perfect so if point based I doubt it will get there... but at least its good for my first)

Anyone know a site where I could get public domain (as in No Credit required) PreLoaders and/or Overlays (and other resources) for Flash... preferably already in SWF format (I can't load FLAs in my FREEWARE, and the TVE default pre-loader really sucks)

Ok... Forget that...

Back in the Day there was no Flash for animation... GIF compression hadn't even been invented yet and PCX was all the rage... we animated using an Ancient program called Storyboard Animation Studio... I don't think it exists anymore... but it was good...

On the point of being FREE... All these old animations (AVI and FLM) are now able to convert to Flash easily... I use the "Turbine Video Encoder"... while the file size of the Flash will be a little big, use "Flash Optimizer Lite" (***I THINK***) to cut it down... this way I, an AVI drunken master, can write to Flash without actually having to Learn anything

Also... I can make cartoons in 3d MAX 5 and export as AVI and convert to Flash... so yay... but If you can get 3d MAX 5 your better of just getting Flash Mx

(Note... the Best CODEC for making Flash movies from AVIs is Microsoft Video 1 with Compression set to 100% and Default Temporal Quality Ratio... the AVI is huge but the final Flash is MUCH smaller)

Ok... yo... firstoff... Does anyone know a program that is ***FREE*** (as in NOT Flash MX) that can Batch convert FLA to SWF... I kinda want to put the NewGroundsPreloader.FLA into my movie but the Turbine Encoder can only deal with SWF files (cuz thats all I have... I bought 3d MAX... ain't no WAY I can afford Flash MX now)

But thats not all... my editor can only SAVE segments as FLA... and I have about 50 of them ready for ActionScripting (or something)... so a FREE Batch convertor would be nice

Unless any of you ALSO use the Turbine Video Encoder and know some Scripts that can load-up FLAs or something (cuz thats all I have)

Well... I've expired my MX trial... (a few times), but whatever... I want to keep animating, but Flash seems too expensive... so, I searched and searched until I found FREEWARE and unlimted use Shareware that can export and convert AVI's into SWF and I found some good ones... but I don't know if advertising is against the rules so I won't say what they are unless someone asks... (No audio 79 Meg AVI down to a descent 2 Meg SWF with sound... yay... almost there)

But anyway... to the point... does anyone else know any good FREEWARE or unlimited use Shareware/Demos that might be usefull for animation... I have a good converter program, so maybe some AVI or MP3 or MIDI convert tools would be usefull... (I've been making Pre-loaders and movies with GIFmaker/GIF-AVI/AVI-SWF)

If you guys think that AVI animation (converted to Flash) is taboo or something then whatever... At least its FREE... can anyone help?
