Invisible Ice

I heard that people have stopped using the term 'Black Ice'

Black Ice is ice frozen without many air bubbles trapped inside, making it highly transparent.

and started to use the term 'Invisible Ice'. They are saying this now for obvious reasons.

What do you guys think about it :D

I still dont know what the hell is going on.

You posted pairings, but a bunch of people aren't including.

Then someone mentioned something about a group 2,

who is in group 2 and when does their round start?

Or is it too late for anyone else to enter.

I'm confuzzled :(

really though it will be a crap shoot who gets it this year though. last's years winner took us all by surprise. they dont read the forums and get a vote from the musicians, they choose someone who has helped alot of flashes and been active in the newgrounds community as a whole, not by music quality

anyways my thumb is firmly inserted into my rear end hoping for a bjra win WEWT

I have a feeling you will win, because this year he had a ton of songs in flashes, plus you're best friends with Tom.

I actually am willing to bet that you will win.

So i guess i'll be the first to say, Congratulations!

It's worth noting that 'computer' speakers are definitely almost always a ripoff. What you pay versus what you get in overall quality/volume is generally disproportionate with proper monitors (or even a decent set of bookshelf speakers.)

Dam! Thanks a lot for telling me, i didn't wanna get ripped off!

:f you wanna go che3ap, grab yourself a pair of m-audio av30's or av40's.

I mixed on av30's until I upgraded to my current setup, they were a little colored, crisp mid highs, boomy mid lows, lack of subs, lack of mids, lack of crisp top end

but they worked beautifully

I will DEFINITELY look into those, cheap and are endorsed by BJRA!

Thank you guys once again ;D

Sorry again for not answering you guys,

My price range for getting these speakers BEFORE my birthday is 100 max.

My price range for getting these speakers FOR my birthday is around 200-250.

I'd rather not spend crazy amounts tho, cuz i mean it's just a hobby. I think once i learn more and have more experience ill invest in some REAL speakers.

So should i wait, or should i get it tomorrow?

This post raises a very good point. What exactly is your (OP) goal? What do you intend to use the speakers for? If it's specifically for music production, then yes, you will want to invest in a pair of monitors from the likes of M-audio or krk.

If you're looking for sound reinforcement (for parties and the like) then you'll want to consider the size of the party, then buy based on that.

Alway, Always, Always make sure the speakers are compatible with your equipment before you buy them (learned that the hard way...)
Not sure what this means, all speakers do is take either line-level (for active units) or speaker level (out of an amplifier) audio signals and make noise out of them. There's no way for a speaker to be 'incompatible' with any equipment...

Yea, its for music production but its just a hobby. Im not going all out, trying to get signed and what not just for fun. Mind you im only 15, so i dont have a source of income.

I JUST found these. They are inexpensive and have some good reviews.

My mom can go and pick them up tomorrow. Should i get this and get some more equipment for my birthday? Like a MIDI controller and some other stuff like a mic, some software or other stuff?

Sorry for my indecisiveness, i'm kinda lost atm.

Wow thanks for the awesome response.

Ok so It's either M-Audio or Krk's.

Now, my birthday is in December, and my mom is willing to buy me the speakers tomorrow.

Should i settle for cheaper speakers like around 70-80 bucks, or wait a month for 200+ dollar speakers and get nothing else.

Thanks for everyone who posted bookmarking this for future use. Like REALL future use, when i get my own money definitely going to buy one of the Studiophile lines or Bx lines.

Hopefully that means more and more indie EDM producers will be taking the scene as opposed to shitty pop music labels.

That would be so awesome.

I would be the coolest cat in school if EDM was popular in america. XD

Well, my birthday is coming up and im at a loss of what to buy.

I want it to be related to music production.

I have Headphones I have a Keyboard and i have a Laptop

I really want to get some speakers like those big ones. I think they are called monitors.

You think its worth getting them or should i get something else.

I also need one of those M-Audio Sound card things. Like those things you plug in ur MIDI cable into.

I don't wanna be a brat and tell my parents to spend a crazy amount of money. Anything decent quality and sturdy would be awesome.

PLEASE HELP!

Sorry for being terribly stupid when it comes to hardware, i hope you guys will help me out.

Thanks!
