WELL, from what i can tell, the guy used massive.
there was a pitch bend equipped bass with a square lead probably detuned with a saw on a second oscillator.
then the rest is mixing!

if it's mainly keyboard, i would suggest FL studio, it's pretty good with midi.
i would also appreciate if you checked the songs on my page for your opinion!

you can obviously torrent various synths for free, it's pretty easy to do, shh, don't tell anybody...
i know Nexus 2 has a lot of strings and classical presets!
