But since you brought it up; yes, you do need to improve. A lot. Your characters are bland and unmemorable, not to mention completely out of perspective. Their bodies have almost no unique characteristics that can be use to differentiate between the two. Finally, the dialog reminds me of a bad ventriloquist trying to carry a conversation between two puppets.

I would have had it sketched out by now, but I'm torn between two ideas. The first, the fake coral in the background of the picture I took, would be easier but boring. On the other hand, I could make it look like the fish is flying over land. I like the second better, but my teacher is generally resistant to projects that aren't based in reality.

The assignment was to make an abstract painting. I chose a simple course of action: abstraction through simplification. Because of that, I'm not sure how much shading I'll be doing. I really want to do more shading; I really hate the lack of depth, but I have a feeling that I'll be told that it is too realistic. I really hate having to tiptoe between what my teacher will pass and what I want to do.

I hate to sound like a jackass, but you should learn how to draw before trying to make a game.
