Flash is more possible and more up my street!!! Its just Director seems more professional with some stuff.
What do you think are the best things to make using Director?
For example flash is far better for animations, what about games, flash or director?

Hi people, just wondering if there are any Director programmers around?
Ive started doing a module in University on it and seeing as i have some Flash experience its not that new to me and i know my way around it.
However ive been looking for some more advanced help than drawing images and moving them across the screen! Which seems to be what this module will entail.
Im asking for some help from anyone who is confident with Director, maybe someone to work on a project with.

Whch doesnt pass through W3Cs validator for correct XHTML (or HTML for that matter). Anyone got any suggestions?
hmmmm looks ok to me...
try the back slash here "width="700" height="50" />" but i really dont think that would be the problem, try looking on xhtml tutorial sites they may have a flash input thingy there, or W3C just dont have anything for embedding flash movies, meh beats me!

Hopefully some of you still remember the NG RPG demo a team of flashers created? If you dont... refresh ur memory!
Well after nearly a YEAR (!!!) of waiting we are ready to tell you.....
We're still working on it.....!
Few excuses:
- Loss of interest from many of the team.
- So much hassling and messing around set back alot of time.
- People disappering for a while.
- Plot changes
- New improved engines from different staff members.
(the list goes on)
Any way i'd like to say we think we may have got somewhere now and we have an abso-fecking-lutly amazing game with things hopefully NG hasnt seen before.
We are aiming on about 2-3 hours of gameplay, however we aim to make the game unlimited (or until you get bored that is, which hopefully wont happen!)
We are inputing some amazing graphics and stunning f/x.
Finally we have intergrated many ideas and come up with a brilliant plot, however it wont be based on NG..... ok sorry to upset people.........
BUUUUT!!!!!! due to the greatness of the engine we can just strip it of graphics etc and make a new plot with a new graphical interface, thus meaning we can create a game based on NG also.
So dont you worry.
If you have any queries please post here as we arent getting enough questions/support on our forum to keep us stimulated!

Yeah well i mean, you will be able to keep up on one solo project in the background its not THAT taxing :P
You will be working with me (random stuff ?!?!), thewasteofwebspace (programming), slackersoha (artist) and EviLudy (programmer). A few others pop in and out now n then.
I have seen your work and am inpressed, obviously with a batting average of A+ u aint too bad =P
One prob tho, we all use MSN instead of AIM, (AOL is just a big virus) ..... (well thats what i think neway =P ) .... have u got msn, it would help greatly......
Next just sign up on our forum, n ill make you staff and your in =) simple as that!!

I am looking for a Graphics Designer who can Animate very well. I know this sounds a bit stupid but the NG RPG is without a steady reliable artist animator =(
You will be required to:
- Draw sprites for the game (were not talking about mario pixel sprites, but game sprites eg trees, buildings etc etc)
- Have a bit of time on your hands for the next couple of months
- A few flash animations on NG, and to have a batting average of B+ (prefereably)
- Input of ideas, and make your opinions heard among the team!
- Work well in a team, dont worry were a friendly bunch =)
Advantages of doing this:
- You will be part of a team, which will be good for future references for jobs etc
- Be a Co-Author of one of the greatest games on NG ever!
(so ur batting average will improve!!)
- You will have a great time doing it! (which i think is the most important!!)
I cant give details of exactly what you will be doing as we wanna keep most of it a suprise, but it will be mainly cutscenes and in-game graphics.

Ok search Stienberg, thats the company name of the Wave Lab software.
Its not a music creator, its more like a music editor, it basically gives you the wave map of a track, n you can cut bits out etc etc
school is a waste of time. i think.... i cant remember it very well....
Take Media Studies/ Film Studies, and the like. dunno if you have them where ever you live but.....
Basically go it alone, like nearly all the good animators n programmers on this site...

you want a quick framerate (you do, most people dont realise) if you want it to go slower just make the frame spacing longer.... or the animation take up more frames, simple as.

yer people dont get this, Flash files (known as swf's) can really only be created in Macromedia Flash (obviously)
There are some programs that use the same engine/whatever to do a similar job, eg swift, however i personally find them harder to use than Macromedia Flash its self
Goto the Swift website (do a google search, its too late and annoying for me to give you a link :P) and you can get a free trial download if you find Flash too complicated...

People have probably come up with this in the past but i feel it is an ever increasing popular web category.
I intend on building an interactive chat room, this is why i need help, as i dont really know much to do with Director, but am learning every day. I do however have good graphical skills and html is second nature. I am reasonable at flash, not that its much use, but it does give a good background knowledge of Macromedia software.
More to the chat room, if you had brushed passed Habbo Hotel, or Coke Music in your childhood, that is what i am aiming for, with obvious twists n its own originality. Depending on how easy/complex it is for you, let me know.
I do realise we will need a rather large server etc etc if we get this live. But that will all come together as we progress.
Just lemmi know if you need more info, on anything.

I am looking for willing, able, people, that use Macromedia Director. I have tried to locate other websites that are similar to Newgrounds for Shockwave. However i was unsuccesful.
Basically i have an idea, if it goes through it has the potential to be huge.
Dont worry if you cant program using director, i need graphic designers and others as well.
If it works, it may be a little earner for us aswell.
Sorry if this is a hopeless cause, its worth a try.
I placed this topic in here because i feel people in this topic are more advanced in the computer world, than the rest of the forums. Also its the only one that allows us to talk about computer stuff away from flash (ok ok general aswell but..... u'know).
