If you really wanted to find out your BA, you would do it manually:

Take 3 of your submissions with the highest scores and then divide it by 3.

So even if the site says you have no BA you can still make start a collab? Thats why I ask

Batting Average? Posted February 13th, 2009 in Game Development

I had always assumed you get a BA once you have 3 submissions... but I have 3 and it still says n/a, when do you get a BA, or there an error occurring?

I got WaW a couple of weeks ago for the Wii, the graphics are terrible, but I love the game play with the zapper.

My gamer tag is Lenard, and I'll check back in a sec with that number...

A metaphor is an analogy. Just like a simile is an analogy. An analogy is just drawing a similarity between two nouns. For example an analogy would be: Your beauty is like a rose. But this is also a simile. Just like an analogy is Your beauty is a breath of fresh air on a stale cloudy day. But this is also a metaphor. i'm being redundant but whatever, you get it right?

Response to: Voice Actor Wanted Posted January 18th, 2009 in Audio

I need a voice actor super crazy fast.

1 - A male voice, preferably on the lower side, with a serious, wise tone.
2 - The discovery of the bottomless crevasse in greenland by Dr. Nera Vivaldi supports my theory that the earth is in fact, solid. Not the hollow cave it was once assumed to be. The Bottomless Crevasse is probably the sole route from the earth's surface to the center of the earth. The only other possible link would be an underground river, flowing in alternating directions in response to the tides, but this seems unlikely. The Church of England has excommunicated me, my country scorns my image, yet I know in my heart I am right. In one weeks time, I will find venture into the bottomless crevasse, to prove that there is no hollow earth, that I will be swallowed up in molten iron and nickel, or survive, and live to tell the truth, to this wretched world.
3 - My email is keenan.benshop@gmail.com. Send all auditions there.
4 - ASAP
5 - You'll get co-author in the submission, thats all I can offer.

That does not look good. At all. It looks thrown together, and a bitmap isn't gonna cut it if you want this collab to be a "big deal".

The quality doesn't sound good at all.

Response to: Voice Actor Wanted Posted December 12th, 2008 in Audio

1 - I need a voice actor to do a grizzled, almost comedic, but not quite, narrator voice.

2 - Once, there was a thriving race of machines, called the Zuid'Tian [Zoo-eed Tee-ahn]. They were a technologically and sociologically advanced people, and were peaceful and friendly. Many alien races came to see their wonders of science, and as some call, magic. However, this would not last.

3 - If you're interested, PM me, and I'll send you my email.

4 - I'm accepting offers until Christmas.

5 - The actor'll get co-author if you want it.

I mean it is kind of cheating the portal a bit.

Removed one is right there and the "new" one is right here.

As you can see in the removed one, the author whines this:

Ah come on! 22nd daily?! 64th weekly?! 10 minutes of good quality animation get 22nd daily, do you guys only rate high "Awesome" and "henntai"? >_>

So i am asking you all, is this against the rules?

Well, it technically isn't, but if people are smart, which they obviously aren't, judging by the score, the flash should get the right score.

Advertising your flash submission, isn't exactly what the flash forum is for any how, and your simply deterring anyone from even considering reviewing your movie if you leave a post like that. Don't be a dick.

Use A Pencil When Outlining

That's a preference. What's wrong with the brush?

Use Frames at 30fps

30 is great, but its not an ultimatum

Use Seperate Layers/ the Library

Well, you kind of have to

Try Getting someone to help you with actionscripting is o.k.

Yes it is

Animations that are "suitable for all audiences"

Fuck that. This isn't cartoon network.

Copy someone else's work

Agreed

use 24fps or 12fps, etc.

I can see 12, but 24 is just fine

Upload Things you did not make

You just said that

Use the biggest brush tool when drawing

Actually a great way of drawing is zoomed in with the biggest size, tracing over a previous rough sketch

Attempt to get around these rules

What rules?

You know though, after seeing your profile picture, I take back what I said. The art is fantastic, i mean, you obviously know what you're doing. Great work my friend.

do a hittest and textbox.text += 10;

well, i know that, but I don't know how to write the function.

How do you make it so when you have a text box, and you shoot an enemy, a certain amount of points are added to the text box? I can't figure it out... it keeps screwing everything up.

Can anyone help?

Here's what I have so far: Link

About my experience, I have only published one game, but have a couple of games that I didn't finish (mostly cus I couldn't rely on smith, my usual animator) I havn't finished the game enigine, but I just wanted to know if someone wanted to help me make it.

I'd be willing to collab.

Here's an example... its a quick side scroller that took me about 4 hours. Just a rough copy, but it should give you a basic idea of my skills.

menu

I don't know about anyone else, but I just feel it looks kind of 90s. It doesn't feel similar to the other other parts, and while the 3D is great, I don't think it works. Plus, its 7 megs, which is already over half of our size, and I'm hoping most of the parts will be pretty complex. I'd rather have a 2D menu than a 17 meg filesize honestly. Thats my opinion. Anyone else?
