ok so this is a sketch I tweaked on paint, its 5:56 in the morning, and i dont have the energy to finish it, and since i wont be able to work on it for awhile probably, im gonna put it up without the hands done. for those im thinking orange and black

For your first drawing on MS Paint,i'd say its not too bad.but you should practice more,as you can then improve with Paint.
The picture itself is quite out of prespective with the background hills/mountains,and the chimney looks flat.it could use some improvement,but its not a bad start.=)

so i found yet another site, i found the icelandic portion, but it turns out the site has a whole slew of languages, with like mini games, pretty nifty [I did a few of the icelandic games without error, and I tried the basic gailic [ Irish ] game without looking at their word bank, only missed 5, and two of those were because i couldnt spell...]

So...I found this site, Teaches old norse in lessons, and they explain it so any idiot will learn it [old norse is actually much easier than say, modern norwegian]

it also has a section on runes [elder futhark, obviously (its called futhark because those are the first letters of the runic alphabet) and also says some gramatic rules of runes [for instance, it can all be in a line, and the last letter of a word can be the first letter of the next i.e. anditsittinghere]

Yeah, Like i said before, im in no hurry, I'm just glad I found a group worth contributing to, and not about like...pokemon...or the other crap groups they have.....

oh and i cant remember who asked already [Im a burn out aparently] but they asked if female viking warriors exsisted.....the answer, in story, yes, in real life, no. but, they had a more important role then most women during that time period, as well as almost equal treatment [not really, but for the times, yeah, equal treatment] as well they could be land/title holding.

and [as i understand it from the sagas, this is opinoun only] viking women were capable of being very vendictive, as well as very manipulative [not all of course] and as a result, they wouldnt kill people, but they would often have people off'd, either by saying you know, this guy hit me, or etc. there are a few mentions in njalls saga of women using the "he hit me/raped me" line. it usually worked. so they werent warriors, but they werent inocent fragile women either.

I was going to actually suggest Huskarl when we originally started the Karl wars [as they are now known, I suppose] but It sliped my mind, but yeah since the mixing of english and norse bothers ya, change house to Hus, im for that

Svein = Shield Maiden
House Carl = Hamingja (a guardian spirit, usually in the form of an animal)
Degn = Fylgja (a guardian spirit, female form, but invisible)
Stambo = Norna (a goddess of fate), three are named in the Sagas, but there may be more
Stallari = Valkyria
Jarl = Dis (meaning goddess, i.e. Freya is also known as Vanadis, the Vanir Goddess)

Thats a good idea too, but i think I like my names better. I think when you call them mythical beings, its i dont know, giving them a rank thats too high, considering we all have realistic ranks, especially the norn one, the three norns weave the tapestry of fates, is that really a title we should give out?

I had an e-machine that did that if you plugged in headphones, or a mic in the front, came over the spekers anyways, there was a place in the back of the computer to also hook the headphones and mic, and it didnt do it when plugged in there

Concerning Womens rankings [If we ever need them] I suggest, since there is no real ranking system available, we use the names of the Valkyrie from the Eddas. The picture below is a preview of the list of names they have, as well as the actual article where the full list can be found. we can just decide which name is most powerfull, or the most relavent and go from there [ For instance, Geirdriful is one name, in old norse means spear flinger, that'd be a good name for a female svein, etc ]

Im Glad we all got the ball rolling on this rank issue. i think we pretty much have it sorted already [of course we'll wait to see what everyone has to say] I dont see anyone having any significant Issues with it.

As for the Carl/Karl issue, heh, its really not important either way. I understand VD's view, and accept it as logical, however it can also be argued that because the ranks already have titles such as svein, blodgodi and house Carl, that mixing house and karl shouldnt be an issue, as house carl doesnt fit in with the other ranks, so we're already mixing norse and english, though not within the same rank. and so, my official vote is for Karl, I only post this because im interested to see where everyone goes with it.

I think thats perfect, and even though got it, i think the graph helps. just a few minor notes,

Yeah, sorry about length of posts, i was just getting some of the important stuff out of the way, and also ive read through alot of the old posts, and thought there was some vital information left out, and also if im posting somthing later, you will all know everything i know, but yeah, i promise, no more huge posts [Im too lazy anyways]

now on the matter of ranks, i say we give it a couple of days, make sure everyones on board, and then change the ranks acordingly
