BBC has show cased some artwork by the artistJames Mylne
does all his artwork with a ball point pen... thought i would share it as it also a good backup for it doesn't matter what equipment/programs you have... you can still do quality artwork

Amazing... truly amazing!

i am assuming this is a carving of a pumpkin and not a wooden carving.
and if so, you could use a popular search engine to find a majority of pictures if you want something to spark ideas.
as it stands your proposal is very open, how much skill and experience do you have?
here are some rather simple* designs that may inspire you.
* was not the correct choice of word
Side note - Loving the Halloween themed icons, especially since each level has its own picture now :D
Yeah sure, i would LOVE to do some artwork for someone who has joined within the last week and has done little more then publicly advertise his own site and little else, and not only that, i will do it all for free as that is apparently the going rate for internet artists who don't have anything else to do with their time because "full credit" for the work we do is apparently a bonus and not a given...

Do i foresee a lot of "Friday flood" icons?

Nose is small and unsure how the guy is meant to breath with a strap over his mouth, also is that his eyesbrows "the / lines above the eyes" or is that more straps over his face. its not very clear. keep at it

Ok, so this is what i do.
you have "doodle phase" where if i have a spare 10-30 mins and i feel like drawing, i open up PS and choose a single colour... like purple, green or something like that. that is now my theme colour, i then draw a "V" slightly angled... and from that i work lines from it... that V normally ends up been a chin line, a nose or waist line i will work from it until i am bored with it / unhappy and will delete it and start again with another V * doesn't all ways point down* so i tend to get a lot of elves XD.
then you have "topic phase" so for example if was to draw a female face (i love drawing females :D as they have curvy lines everywhere and lots of AWESOME hair (also love drawing)) so i would start with my v (in this case it turned into a nose) and then work from there with what i already know (i tend to get the same sort of look when i do this. nothing original or new)
i also draw inspiration from the art portal. i spend a good half and hour every day just crawling though the new stuff. of course there is a ton of similar styled boring crap (which I tend to fall into as well) but you get someone who stands out with a unique style or way or doing something, i find something i like about it and try to bolt it onto my own style. (if I have one). its all about experimenting and development for me rather then finish products.
back on topic, i would say im really bad for coming up with "original" ideas as i draw inspiration from everything. i am always influenced by something or someone. but if im doodling i start with a "V" and just work from it. i normally get similar results but its something i enjoy doing. if it was something bigger and i was going to spend more time on it... i would bash together a lot of shapes and work from what my minds eye see's from it... when i was younger i would stare at the carpet/floor/clouds if it was an irregular pattern and make shapes and see peoples faces (mostly) in a lot of detail.
Heres a quick thing to show you how i normally start my doodles ( done with mouse at work on new paint :P )

i have to agree, the smoking girl and PS girl i just love the perspective, i love the style, i love the duller colour pallet and its a new and fresh concept i haven't seen before! cant wait to see more perspective drawings in this style!
so many good things!
so these are my top 3
monsterparty
slightly bias on this one i feel as i love the style of artwork you have, the tones and colours are smooth and subject matter clear.
WiZBiN-Yoshi-1
mood, lighting, colours and depth you have it all. its not as refined as it could be but it sure is dam good.
ImpendingRiot
now, I know people say this is unclear and i have to agree. but i love the flow and atmosphere you have created with the colours.
My vote is for monsterparty
(partly because yoshi is getting more love)
worst shading i have seen in a long time, focus where a light is coming from and make the areas in the dark shaded. just don't go around the black lines with shading. also the lines are wobbly but that's most likely from using a mouse.
how do i become part of these friend games?

- Keep your art up, its not hurting anyone
- If its really bothering you, you can take it down
- if you manage to upload better artwork, i would recommend removing the older artworks for a better chance of getting your work into the art portal and been scouted.
