I did enjoy the movie and it had a great soundtrack. I recall John C Reilly touring as Dewey Cox to promote the film, doing gigs here and there (not sure if he did any in the UK) and I wish I could have seen him.

There's a road in Stockport called "Bonar Road" which had the 'a' swiftly changed to an 'e'.

Well, if that were a serious criterion then Israel would also not be a country.

Perhaps he means on the security council? After all, those countries are the only voices that really matter in the organisation. Russia and China still don't recognise Kosovo.

They say the only reason they are fighting back is simply because the Americans are in their country, if they would leave, then they will lower their weapons.

You're implying that the Taliban will stop fighting if the US leaves... The people might well 'lower their weapons' (although I dispute the extent to which non-Taliban aligned people are actually fighting) but the Taliban will not.

Response to: The British Empire was evil Posted February 11th, 2011 in General

After all, all the Afgans want is for western countries to leave theirs, and then they will put their weapons down. I have heard this from an Afgan.

Well, we're not fighting Afghanistan... Unless you've met someone from the Taliban...

Response to: The British Empire was evil Posted February 11th, 2011 in General

The British Empire was clearly not a pinnacle of human decency, nor will I ever argue that it was a force of good. But I think the argument you're missing is that how Britain detached itself from her Empire. We didn't go out fighting, the vast majority of colonies gained their independence after the Second World War through peaceful means. Compare this to say, France, Spain, Portugal etc who held on for as long as possible and didn't go out without a fight.

Furthermore, every nation has done terrible things. You're pinpointing of Britain is easy because Britain was in the position that America is in now: huge, influential, rich and so forth. Every country is self-serving. Don't be a moron and think otherwise.

I'd try and be gracious but the result is just incredible. Fourth place yet we clearly had the best presentation, were the safest choice and could offer the third world millions of pounds in investment.

There's clearly some sort of corruption going on.

They had every right to show it now, if this is really going to ruin our world cup bid then it was a flawed bid to begin with.

And almost all wars end on Diplomatic means. Wars do not usually end with every last soldier fighting to the death.
There pretty much the same war, one to stop the revolution, one to retake america. And I dont think some twat head red coat musketeers ona wooden boat compares to a tank

Stop being a dolt. We never went in to 'retake america' and we certainly didn't win. It was a draw.

Hey, I don't know if this is the best place to put this but whatever. I'm in uni halls at the moment and the university network doesn't allow me to connect to PSN. Now, I tried the usual method of ICS, but it didn't seem to be working. That being said I'm pretty computer un-savvy. So does anyone know if ICS would work and how the hell I'd go about it?

I have Black Ops awaiting and it's killing me :(
