Sorry I'm a tad late (I didn't peak at the scores already playing). Also I keep thinking the games start in a couple of minutes but ofc, I'm an hour ahead :(

Aston Villa 2 v 0 Wolverhampton
Wigan 1 v 1 QPR
Blackburn 1 v 0 Everton
Chelsea 4 v 0 Norwich
Swansea 0 v 2 Sunderland
Liverpool 1 v 0 Bolton
Newcastle 1 v 1 Fulham
Tottenham 2 v 2 Man City
West Brom 1 v 2 Stoke
Man Utd 3 v 1 Arsenal

Sorry haven't posted much recently, I've just moved to Prague and been getting settled and stuff (and paying cringeworthy amounts for Internet).

Anyway, good result for us at the weekend (Welbeck is looking good...) and decent draw for us in the CL. Can't wait to see City's group though, hopefully can give them a challenge. And if Arsenal don't up their game on Sunday, I think we'll get a win.

I'm going to have an all new footballing experience tomorrow when I go and watch Arsenal vs Liverpool at the pub in 3D! Has anyone had the luxury of doing the same, and does it make a positive difference? The brief clips I've seen at the cinema in 3D of football suggest that in long cross-field ball circumstances it is much easier to tell where the ball is in relation to the players, but I can imagine for a whole game it might give me a headache!

Weirdly enough I haven't, and there's a couple of pubs nearby that do it. Just never really go to those ones for matches! Let me know how it is though.

Also predictions for tomorrow (today):

Arsenal 2 v 2 Liverpool
Aston Villa 1 v 0 Blackburn
Chelsea 2 v 0 West Brom
Everton 1 v 1 QPR
Sunderland 3 v 3 Newcastle
Swansea 2 v 0 Wigan

Ken Bates. Foreplay. Slow arousal. Leeds.

Hahahah, oh wow. He's actually insane. Though I can't help but feel a little turned on.

Anyone watch El Clasico? Was entertaining for most of it bar the obvious theatrics. At the end it got a little heated and the racism was terrible. Also Mourinho clipped some guys eye.

Ken Bates has called a minority of Leeds fans morons. That's disgraceful. Only a minority?

sorry duke <3

Aguero looked good, but so did Robinho in his first match. I'll wait a while before I judge. Arsenal on the other hand, were lucky to win tonight. They faced a very good Udinese side which did everything but score.

So where were you when Fabregas moved to Barcelona?

Speaking of which, Barcelona played pretty average today and I wasn't too impressed. However, Villa's goal was fantastic (and reminded me of Wembley, unfortunately) and Messi showed up at the right time (despite being invisible for most of the match). Typical diving and bad refereeing spoilt it a tad (Real Madrid being denied a stonewall penalty) but nowhere near as much as the CL semi finals.

Anyway, according to reports the Sneijder deal is back on. I feel that Sneijder WILL happen, or at least I'm 90% sure of it. All sides want this deal to happen, it's just his wages which is the stumbling block and according to Italian media, he's reduced his demands. Whilst he's not my first choice midfielder, I certainly couldn't complain if he did come.

Speaking of Brown, after those injuries today and after seeing his performance for Sunderland, I certianly wouldn't be disappointed if he was still with us. Nevertheless, we have good backup this year as opposed to a couple of years ago.

Anyone watching el Clasico tonight? Maybe I'm being naive in hoping for a good match, it'll probably just be like last season. :X

Response to: Newgrounds Football Club - Ngfc Posted August 14th, 2011 in Clubs & Crews

I'll take that win. We were pretty poor in the second half but the biggest worry is the possibility of another defensive crisis. Young had a fantastic game however and a good start to the season.

Oh, no doubt he could be great, but I just wonder if they could do with a more experienced keeper for the time being while he matures. 20 years old seems too young to be the number 1 goalkeeper in the top side in England.

Hmmm, I do agree but our only 'experienced' keeper now is Lindegaard and he's not the most experienced. A good keeper who provides good cover but not too sure.

We're going to have to be patient with him. He has the potential to be the best in the world and he, like any other young player, are bound to make mistakes.

Overall, good 30 minutes or so (we had 90% possession at one point). Conceded a silly goal and West Brom are coming into it. Can't call the second half but if we can start playing like we did at the start again, we could easily win it.

I think I was being a bit ambitious with the 3-1, since it was at the Britannia :P Torres looked more comfortable, though ineffective overall. I'll give AVB more time to settle (and wait for who he brings in) before I pass judgement.

Cleverley and Anderson are starting in the midfield, which should be interesting if they can repeat their performance from the Community Shield. Berbatov not starting which is interesting, Welbeck starts ahead of him.

predictions for today:

Stoke 7 - 0 Chelsea (ok ok, 3-1 to Chelsea)

West Brom 1 - 2 United

Our game won't be easy, Hodgson has done brilliantly with the West Brom team so it won't be an easy game. Hopefully we can improve our away form this season and it'd be great if we can start that today.

hey everyone, today (uk time) is the day of everyones favourite indie/hipster mod fag, Bananabreadmuffin!

He's just turned 22nd, which is an exciting milestone, so everyone has to (by law) wish him a happy birthday. If you don't he'll hit me. He's a bit of a lightweight so no doubt he'll be getting a bit drunk later after he has a sniff of alcohol.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEO

Apparently, it's all kicking off here in Stockport. Worrying since I live right next to the town centre.

Response to: London Riots 08/08/2011 Posted August 9th, 2011 in General

Fortunately I'm not in Salford at the minute, cause I live right next to that area when I'm at Uni. However I've heard from friends it's not as bad as it sounds, no looting or anything and the police have said there was only around 20 youths and one brick was thrown.

Response to: Newgrounds Football Club - Ngfc Posted August 9th, 2011 in Clubs & Crews

I now have a few days to sort out my various (6!) fantasy league teams for this season ahead of the Prem starting- why is it that all my friends insist on setting up different leagues with different versions of the game?

I'm involved in the Telegraph and official Premier League versions should anyone be interested in joining a league- PM me.

Gah! I did that last season but I'm just sticking with the official one this year. Don't forget to join our little league! 14389-84162

People have to remember that beyond this daily mail-like view that DEY SHUD BE SHOT this is sparking up in the poorest areas of the country, where youth employment is at its highest. I certainly don't agree with the riots, and I fear that because of them everyone will forget that the police shot a guy a short while ago. However, to say that they should be shot? Don't make me laugh. This goes a lot deeper.

Response to: London Riots 08/08/2011 Posted August 8th, 2011 in General

For once a third-world country is considered better than our first-world country.

Think you're overreacting a bit there mate.

Response to: London Riots 08/08/2011 Posted August 8th, 2011 in General

If it doesn't hit Manchester, does that mean we're the capital now?

Response to: Newgrounds Football Club - Ngfc Posted August 8th, 2011 in Clubs & Crews

Well, one good thing that's come from the riots is that the England game is called off. Bad news is that every game in London is in doubt.
