I used to listen to my father spoke about how people become wealthy. He told me the most important characteristics of the riches are hardworking, saving, smart and how to manipulate money (eg. investing). The characteristics turn out to be the fact for all of the wealthy people. A lot of poor people have to opposite characteristics to those describe above. Lazy, wasteful, dull and no good uses for money.
What do you think about this view?
Yes, those 4 factors do count in becoming rich, I saw an article a while ago that says something along the lines is that rich people spend most of their time studying ever since they were young, they progressed into getting in college and go higher up to get the best grades out there thus they have bigger opportunities, it's just that most of us either give up or are too lazy and wasteful to go too far, hardworking is debatable, it depends on what job do you have, you could end up as a cleaner for example which is a hardworking job imo but you don't get much cash compared to a job where you work as a clerk or bank manager and is less physically straining and yet you get much more cash.

I see, I guess it can do better in terms of fbf animations, when it comes to sprite movies they both come to par I guess, then again TB is purely for animations.
I am an avid flash user, have been using Flash since it was owned by Macromedia and they only thing I can do without looking like they were created by a 5 year old are sprite movies :| I tried drawing backgrounds and whatever but they end up bad as I am no graphic designer and have little to no fbf skills and I have not used flash for quite some time now.
I have been reading about Toon Boom recently and I haven't seen what it's capabilities are when it comes to sprite movies, I know it's superior to flash when it comes to fbf animations as many professional animators across the globe use Toon Boom for their animations.
The only sprite movie you could call that it's made by Toon Boom I've seen is this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDkCnDZO9cg
The background effect is impressive and idk if the latest version of flash has improved it's animating capabilities (not just for sprites)
Curiously I'm thinking about giving it a try but if anyone out there who made use of it or have used it before (I know the creator of brackenwood switched to it, him being a pro animator and not an amateur/hobbyist) I'd like to know how useful would it be for a sprite movie animator who have little to none graphic designing skills :/ if I should just stick to flash
I presume many Toon Boom owners own a Wacom table as well (and probably Flash animators who do fbf animations) I down own one tough, I don't see a point in one for myself.
Sci-fi fan here, the technology like nanomachines, omni-tools, cool futuristic cities, space ships and space exploration is a very interesting concept, Deus Ex and Mass Effect series are so far my favourite sci-fi series so far. (however Mass Effect has a bit of fantasy in it with biotic powers.)
and I love technology myself so yeah.
The only fantasy series that I liked are the LOTR series, anything else barely held my interesting.

Hmm, save my picture as JPG and have it blurry, or save it as PNG and have it crystal clear. What do?
JPG's are smaller (in size) compared to PNG's, so I myself prefer JPG for pictures that are screenshots and things that are not important, art on the other hand is obviously better in PNG format.

Look at how many half assed games have been released.
Hell, have you seen how many shitty games there are for the NES? And that's one of the most respected game consoles
of all time! Sure you got the classics, super mario bros., contra, the megaman games, zelda 1 & 2, castlevania, etc.
but if you actually look at the library of games there are quite a few stinkers and mediocre forgettable titles.
There are good games and bad games in every generation, I remember action 52 but that was intentionally bad so it might not be a good example, lets pick the Amiga now shall we, it had very few games which were fun, many platformers were mediocre at best and the best platformer game I played on Amiga was Turrican, many others were just bland, had no interesting gameplay in them.

You said, "Come at me" and now you're calling me an eletist. You're acting like programming is fucking impossible.you're right with this. I'm just tired of feeling like my game is going to be automatically judged just because I made it
in game maker. I was in a feisty mood.
I've been working on this one game for the past 3 months and it's coming along great, but I don't want people to see
that it's made with GM and say "GAEM MAKR SUX!!!!1!!1"
and I don't think programming is impossible, but it's definitely not the easiest thing to do. At least from what I have seen.
I'm one of those who won't judge you by what tool you will use, I've played Iji and it's still my favourite Game Maker game I've ever played, hell it's better then many other half-assed freeware games I've ever played so far, Iji is made by Game Maker and it's done so professionally that you won't notice it's even made by Game Maker, so yeah there's that.
it's just there are many crappy games made with game maker but this also applies with flash movies/games being submitted on newgrounds everyday so in that case flash may as well have the same reputation seeing that there are incompetent submissions passing on newgrounds.
However .exe support on newgrounds is wrong tough, theres gamejolt for that, I'm more happy that Tom Fulp have implemented (albeit invite only) html5 support for newgrounds, I am a Construct 2 user myself and this benefits me.

Minecraft is actually a really good game, it's so far the only game out there that I can't seemingly get bored of, that and the sims series.
A game ruined by it's fanbase could be Saints Row The Third, I played it and so far I liked it and this is coming from a person who played Saints Row 2 beforehand, honestly I liked them both and Saints Row 3 beats 2 by a huge mile imo except in city/map, content like clothes/player customization and story but in gameplay terms it's better then 2 and has some fun weapons in it as well as a cool VTOL to top it so the good outweigh the bad in that game yet they treat it like it ruined the Saints Row franchise. honestly the first one was a pure GTA ripoff so SR3 is actually the one that is putting the series in it's own accord, I don't want another regular gang v gang sandbox game anyway, there are already many of them like Mafia series and some others that I can't think of right now.

I can only recall not being able to finish this game because it was too scary.
Has there ever been a game you were too scared to finish?
Amnesia scared me real good, I stopped playing that game after I got to the sewer/water area, Penumbra had it's scary points as well but I managed to finish it, same with F.E.A.R. which I also finished it.
Invader Zim
Courage the cowardly dog
Ed Edd n Eddy
Those 3 would make my day.
Meh I actually kinda like it, it's a bit overrated for what it is but it has some fun matrix-inspired action in it, same said for a bunch of stickmen movies, I don't hate either of them tough, if they have great action sequences I will like them.
I am so used to use Gimp and only heard of Paint.NET recently as like 2 years ago, I am not a graphic designer tough so I don't think Paint.NET would benefit me, I use Gimp merely as a free alternative to microsoft paint, use it to make some video games sprites/textures and other misc shit nothing advanced and so far Gimp has satisfied me, I never tried Paint.NET so I can't compare it to Gimp.

It seems it would be more fun playing online but cince I got an piratted version I can't...
Is online any fun?
Cause I if it is I'll buy a legit version then.
I use cracked version as well, I imagine online mode to be building with several others, sounds boring to me, Minecraft can be very fun if you play it with mods, there are some great mods for MC which add more items, changing the game completely, I saw a mod which makes it take place in floating islands with castles and fantasy, I think it was also the best/most complex mod ever made for MC so far, I forgot the name of it tough.
MC Mods really spice up the mood for MC, making it actually fun to play with a bit of replay value.
Honestly Cube 2/Sauerbraten also has coop mode online which is effectively the same as online MC, albeit those servers are rare, since that said game is an FPS multiplayer game/engine, so you'l see more instagib servers then anything else.
As for Roblox, never played it but I am not a fan of mmo games and even then, Roblox looks like a childish version of MC.
DEHR is one of the best game's I've played this year (next to the Mass Effect series) I just hope they won't fuck the movie up.
Actually I would have preferred a set of DLC's with more story missions than a movie or a sequel/prequel altogether tough.

No contest, DP
He has wolverines healing ability as well as he wields guns, and he's good at them, ofcourse spiderman has spider sense so it gives him some breathing time but the odds are on Deadpools side.
I should have read this thread more carefully, this was a satiric thread not a serious discussion thread.
Shame on me.
No matter how much you or anyone tries to prove that weed or any specific drug is dangerous, the addicts will always oppose the facts and tell you it's not dangerous despite that whatever drug they're opposing against is scientifically proven that it is fatal, whether trough addiction or side-effects or whatever else, this been done over and over and the outcome is always the same, nothing ever changes.
I don't take drugs myself and will not ever try one in my life.

Fear the mystery cube! It shall be mine! And the lack of meaning to my existence SHALL BE OFFICIAL!!!
Does anyone have the fighter jet yet? I think it's an unique icon for a certain member I guess, I don't know why it's not Tom or Wade Fulp that have it, it's the best icon from the list imo and goes perfect for the site creators and admins.
I like the redesign so far, I miss some things from the old one but I still prefer this over the old one, it was starting to look dated anyway.
So those are the new level icons, I like the jet tough but everything else doesn't look too interesting, especially slimer/ghost in the box icon.
I'l be honest, I almost prefer the old icons, they looked much more beautiful and detailed than these but oh well I don't care much anyway, I can live with these.

Yeah same here, I did my project (test project to test the new page) but I can't figure it out on how to delete it later. :/
I've started playing MC since friday (this week's friday) I never played it before because the screenshots didn't interest me before but once I downloaded the classic and started playing it I got addicted to it, I paid for the latest official version and so far I enjoy it alot.
To me MC is the same case as in the sims, they're both extremely addictive and get you addicted to it despite that both games are both old, I am not surprised to see that the current version of MC haven't added anything new, I read that adventure mode is already available in some beta, I could be wrong tough, I am not familiar with the beta's as I have the latest official release.
Another game that is old is world of warcraft and it is still popular, old or not does not defy if the game is still fun imo, I know for sure it will take me a long time til I stop playing this game, oh and there's peaceful mode which freezes the hunger bar btw, tough that removes enemies/mobs.
Infiminer while the original minecraft is more of a prototype rather then a full product.
It's basically telekinesis but more advanced, it can manipulate energy and particles as well, it has so many uses.
Good, they will focus on Futurama instead, Simpsons started sucking since the third season I think.
Futurama is still continuing right?
Saints row series put GTA games to shame, I'm more of a fun player then story so as long as SRTT will have weapons of mass destruction like that laser pointer gun which summons an airstrike (seen it on a trailer) the ability to cause mayhem and a lot of exploration it will be awesome, I wonder what more weapons and vehicles it's gonna have, the STAG stuff is scifi and I like that, I like scifi.
I just hope they won't cut alot of shit in the final game.
I miss playing the good old games, I remember playing Tomb Raider 2, I recently installed it again and I knew where all the collectable secrets were. (the dragon statues)
That game was hella fun for it's time.

Might have to do with either being lazy or have more important things atm like school homework/assignments and I tend to play games more then ever lately that I just feel less interesting in creating games, as of right now I do indeed have assignments to work on and can't always work on games or play games when I want, some of them take a lot of time to finish as you have to find information from the web, after finishing this school I tend to get a job so yeah, it get's worse/less freetime from there.
I don't know about you guys but my room is organied, I used to be creative or atleast was more active in the terms of creating games, now I just can't feel like working on anything ever and btw I do not have a goal in life other then to live life the way it makes me live, no real ambitions, I'l just get a job by atleast 23 or close by but other then that my room is organised as always.
imo being organised has nothing to do with being creative, I believe it has more to do with how much motivation and self-esteem a person has but oh well, I could be wrong.
Nothing big, I don't expect anything big in my life anyway as I'm just another middle-class person on Earth, hopefully I'l get a job as a clerk in an office by the next 3 years, not interested in marriage here.
