i know this is days old, but im not sure if it has been totally noticed yet. the thing is that, with the redesign, there were some little problems to fix, like the reviews, the flash buddies, etcetera. well it has all been fixed slowly, but the forum search was still fucked up, until now...

before, when you searched for author's posts and clicked one, it would take you to the first page it the thread that post was in, and no the page the actul post you clicked was.... so it was pretty annoying when you wanted to know what was that post all about... its fixed now so any click on a searched post will take you to the page that post is in :) which is pretty cool.

so yeah now most of the old features have been fixed, i'm happy now since now every new update will be something new and not something old fixed... wait not yet, we still need to get our "edit your favourite bands and movies" back and get the commenters' block list fixed since it only shows stamper's blocked users :P and some other stuff, like the Ng chat and the NG.Mag... im pretty happy for now :D

well, the first thing you seewhen you go to Ng is the tank and the tankman, if people were to remember something from a quick visit to NG its the tank of course. its the NG logo :P

oh also, i AM annoyed at people just ripping stuff from the Raw materials .fla file and slapping it in the shirt template. i mean WTF, its supossed to be your own brush strokes in flash or ilustrator not stuff that is already made... for now this contest is pure crap exept for less than a dozen of entries... in 18 pages... thats ALOT of crap... and with people retouching their already-made-by-NG entries and resubmitting it, gets even more shit to the thread.

oh by the way i hate captions, slogans or any kind of phrase (exept "newgrounds") on a shirt. i'd rather have people looking at the drawing and not the phrase, and it keeps the shirt more universal language-wise :)

Yeah, I actually get really tempted to give it a go with in-page Flash... Where the Flash is under the navbar and all the information is underneath... If we ever did that, it would probably be a mess to try and offer lightbox and pop-up as alternatives... So it would be a single option. We would also still need to deal with under judgment submissions differently - such as a thumbnail that expands into the submission when you click it. We might dabble with all that eventually.

honestly i think the lightbox is an excellent way to show flash, but on really big ones i have to switch to fullscreen to view or play them properly, and sometimes the arrow controls dont work well because its still working with the page and not the flash, but thats as easy as clicking on the flash to lake it work again :P.

in-page viewing might be more problematic, some flashes might be wider than 800 pixels (altho thats kida rare) and therefore mess with the page layout, im not sure since i dont know much about coding.

anyways the only downside i see to the lightbox is that it kinda slows down compared to the pop up option, but people should be already aware of that, if the flash is choppy then just switch to pop up :)

i was talking to this new kid at school and another friend, and we started talking about the simpsons movie which everyone loved over here. i asked the kid, do you like the simpsons? and he said what? no they suck! and my friend and i were like O__O i know people have different tastes but everyone apreciates the simpsons in some minimal way, no one would never say they suck...

anyways he didnt like the simpsons at all, then i asked if he liked futurama and i was expecting the same answer, i was right, he hated it too. then i asked for the one and only anime that has been in every person's childhood in the 90s. Dragon Ball Z. and then he said no i hate DBZ i also hate all anime. and yeah i dont like anime much either but DBZ was the exeption :) then i was like what the fuck does this kid like!?

well, at the end i had fun telling everyone "hey you know the simpsons right?" and getting answers like "of course" "i love em" "i watch em everyday" etc etc. after getting the answers i went to say "dude, this kid hates the simpsons" and everyone was like "really?" "how can you?" "youre crazy"

he wasnt offended at all, i think he liked all the atention he received : P

those backgrounds ar fine since they're ads. i think there should be a black outline at the sides of the move also, to completely sepparate it from the outside ad. and can they be there only the first time you watc hthe submission and then be gone or something? or maybe having them a couple of minutes there, then disappear. they're distracting, but if they only appear on front page flashes then its fine for me : )
