so basically what do you want to know?
i don't understand this thing about static noise and sine waves, what's the matter.

:Although you can definitely meditate to a sine tone.
What does this mean? You can "meditate" to a sine tone? lol

I have like 200+ flp files all named "omfgscales" "fuckthisSHIITTT!!1" or "last try to a song" "this one is good" "perfect rhythm" "COOL MELODY 1" etc.

Sometimes I find something actually cool

Actually Envy, if you could tell me how to replicate the sound with a VST of your choice (they're all the same imo) I'd be very graceful

At the start, the melody that rises and falls, that similar "woub" bubble sound. I think that's some flanger but HOW!!1 And on what instrument/synth?

After the chants finish, at 0:42. What the hell is this sound, I have seriously no idea.
(Yeah that song rocks I know)

On a side note, how does one can recognize what type of wave, what kind of oscillators, what type of filters are in one sound? Just by experience/ear?

Thank you guys!

Somehow I think you should be looking a little more into rational thinking, Lachi. What you just said added nothing to the debate but painted you as a childish individual incapable of adult discussion, at which point you take away validity to your own arguments.

If you want to rebuttal, do it without malice and spite, because until that point, you should be aware that you will not be respected in any sort of argument, and you should reflect on the validity of your own thoughts if you can't come up with an adult response.

? lol, nice post. I don't want to ridiculize you because I can't express myself well in english (I admit ignorance) but btw I don't care what you say/think so next time don't post I just wanted to throw my thoughts now stop arguing about the un-arguable because everyone that doesn't share your opinion will always say that he is right and the others are wrong.

The problem is I don't see all of this you say happening (at least here where I live). We don't really care a lot about religion, more about faith (especially old people).

Catechism is obligatory if you want to marry in church; religion is a subject in all the schools, and if you guys paid more attention to it (not referring to you), you would notice that it doesn't talk only about Christianity; quite the contrary, we talked about God like two times in five years.

btw I see your point =)

I'm italian I can confirm this. A lot of us are catholics only "on the paper" as we say, I went to church a few times in my life, but that doesn't make a non-religious. I actually believe, I have faith; that's a personal thing: you believe? good for you; you don't? good for you.

Religion != faith.

About God's existence, stop talking about it because only stupid people talk about things that can't be proven.

"THERE IS NO PROOF THAT A GOD OR SOMETHING EXISTS SHUT UP!!!1" yeah whatever, but remember that the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence (cit Carl Sagan!!1 omg a scientist!!).

Also, learn about pantheism

just my two cents, peace ^^

At 1/3/13 01:54 AM, MatrixGravity wrote: I have no idea. Is there a difference? The stuff I want to learn is mostly.. terminology that is associated with music production. Stuff like "LFO,Envelope,Cutoff,EQ,Compression,Resonance,Reverb,Mixing,
Mastering,Midi,etc."

That's the kind of stuff I'm trying to learn more about. What category does that fall in?

LFO: Low frequency oscillator; it is used to modifiy dynamically the attributes of a sound (in FL Studio you can use it as an automation clip too)
Envelope I guess you mean ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release).
ecc. ecc.

I was in your same boat. What I did was pretty simple: I kept playing with the DAW and every term I didn't know I went to search it on the internet or on my book. Reverb and delay are two of the most used effects, mastering and mixing are two operations that are part of "doing a song"; I still don't know exactly what a knob labeled "resonance" does but I know it changes the sound makin it more spikey lol.

When I was learning english I didn't take the vocabulary and read it all lol, that's what you want to do with music, imo wrong. Go a few terms per once.

If you've got FL Studio or Sytrus check out these little tutorials on dA (http://blackhole12.deviantart.com/art/Sytrus-Synth-Creation -Part-1-75704794), somethings are explained very good.

Good luck hope I helped

Knowledge=knowledge. We're not disagreeing about that. I'm just saying, telling someone not to look online for tutorials is like telling someone to shove their head up their ass.

Lol. I didn't say "don't look it up".
It's like looking for "how to make a strong shoot at football" or "how to swim properly". I mean, you will never learn if you never practice it over and over and test out. Don't know if you got it.

Ofc you can look it up online, but then it's up to you to learn the best and PRACTICE. What I meant was: instead of looking online, you should see IRL how to DJ in a party, event or something.

peace

Experience. Plus, a friend of mine has his brother DJ, sometimes I go with him just for fun in various locals and things (lol I get food and drinks for free) and help him. You should do something like this too; like, looking for a DJ in your local area, go at parties where there are good djs, etc.

this is not a thing you can type on the internet "how to dj tutorial"

If you have NEXUS there should be a CLASSICAL section (not expansion), I think it has some timpani.
If not, search for some SoundFonts or something, but I don't think you'll find high quality ones. I repeat, maybe in NEXUS there is something, I can't remember it now (not on my PC) it has something to do with DANCE ORCHESTRAL or CLASSIC ORCHESTRA, and IIRC there are some timpani rolls

imo
