Depends on what type of genre the book/movie is. I think an actionbased story works better on film than in a book but if the writer describes it well in the book it might be better.

A goddamn sandbox rpg that means RPG without numbers and "skills". Walk around and do stuff the way you want it, make your own rules and shit. If you want to be an evil ninja that jumps around, then you need your own skills to do so.
But of course limited to some point so you wont fly around in speed of light and shit that makes the game shit and shit.
