Bravo everyone, you did exactly what the creator of this thread wanted you to. Start pointless arguments over a flash. Which I actually thought was rather good.

Assuming that you're not already in by now, don't listen to the people telling you to break down your window/door.. for anyone who has ever had to pay for a new window before its a costly option.

Locksmiths will probably be more forthcoming, or your landlord? In our house last year each room had individual keys and push button locks, so you can imagine locking yourself out of your room was pretty easy. Our landlord would always be over in 5 minutes to bail us out.

If you cant get in touch with your landlord, the person renting you your apartment (i.e. letting/estate agent) should have copies you can have as long as you have proof of identity.

Otherwise most houses have a weekness, our was our backdoor - arm through the catflap and unlock it from the inside. Simples.

I'd love any sig really, i mean my "theme" on my profile is cards and the ace of spades specifically so if anyone made anything around that I would be much obliged! Let your imagination run wild. And if you use any text, big and chunky is the way to go ;)

I think if you dont strategize it correctly itll blow up in your face and people wont even play your game cause they will figure they will just end up frusterated. So like charging people for saved game slots and other critical features i think is stupid and likely to not make you more money than the people you've pissed off.

If its something like .... fallout 3 expansion pack or something, where you are getting a different flavor of the game then i think people would be comfortable. I know i ended up buying all the expansions for that game. I like the fact that it didnt ruin the original game at all. In other words i could live without it.

OVERALL though the game has to actually be good. I am sure once this new field starts growing and more and more people try it out, there will be STUPID BORING games trying to use it and complaining that it doesnt work. When in fact its their game that doesnt work. IT sucks.

I think we're on the same page. I mean this (GS - Shooting Game) game for example, you can't use any weapons apart from the pistol until you sign up, and even then some you have to pay real money to use.

I left a bad review and had half their development team come down on me with either insults or demands for how they could improve. Not to mention one of them attacking my comment with another.

*sigh*

It would just really sadden me to see original content with real character and charm get muscled out by these dubious "corporate" games.

They're like games with no soul.

I've searched for this and came up short, I don't post on the forums much but this irked me so much I felt I had to.

What is everyone's opinion on the amount of flash games in the portal at the moment that require a sign up on another site and often real money to play fully? They're even getting frontpaged! I don't know if its just me but it seriously grinds my gears!

I'm usually a fairly liberal reviewer, but i'll admit i've reviewed these games in depth and badly, I've even had their developers message me for advice on how to improve their service. I can understand the concept - make more money following a Travian business model - but surely newgrounds can do better than submitting these half baked games?

I understood when an "armorgames" game would omit the last level so die hard fans would have to complete it on their site. To me, thats fine. But when a game is not that enjoyable (Swordless Ninja), or enjoyable up to the levels where without premium items you simply cannot reach the end (SAS: Zombie Assault 2) I just don't get it. I mean these websites are asking for real money, in the case of MobiGames, you effectively have to pay $10 just to use the "continue" feature on their SAS: Zombie Assault 2 game. This is bearing in mind that you have to register with their website, handing over your email or facebook account details over before even paying them.

My question to you fellow Newgrounders is would any of you pay any of these companies? Have you already? And if not do these games annoy you as much as they annoy me?

I mean I could be out of order, this may be the future of online gaming, putting in 2 dollars in for 1 credit like back in an old school arcade. Or maybe not. What do you think?
