Response to: Young people are good flash makers Posted May 20th, 2007 in Game Development

The topic should be revised into;
Those who start young, WILL eventually become good, assuming they have some style and 'devotion' I guess you could say.
And those who start at an older age will tend to look like noobs compared to those who start young~.

Sortof illogical where you say, 'Young people are better at something' when that could mean 5 year olds who haven't even been within miles of computer (Imagine isolated country folk) just decided to get a computer with flash, and instantly become the next Adam Phillips...

Response to: Flash Theory: Is Tweening Useless? Posted May 20th, 2007 in Game Development

If tweening was useless, there wouldn't be a term 'tweening'...

Say someone didn't want to make an animation, but a presentation, instead of slaving away making those slide in text manually side in frame by frame, they have a tween tool.

Response to: i need some help Posted May 17th, 2007 in Game Development

Sean Hodges is the Madness music guy.
His friend let him host his songs on Slog Corp (Google?), But I think the site went down or something, so the only other place would be on the NGAP. (Look up Cheshyre)

Response to: Flash should be easy! Posted May 17th, 2007 in Game Development

Probably 5 months to learn and master... Dunno about the actual animation though.

Response to: Boulavard of Broken Songs Collab Posted May 17th, 2007 in Game Development

Um, no? the only reason it's not active is cause nothing needs to be said, that and NGC is down, so half the members won't even be seeing this.

Response to: Emdless Scrolling BG Posted May 14th, 2007 in Game Development

Tween your image inside of a movie clip, and it will scroll forever, if that's what you mean.

Response to: Any suggestions//comments? Posted May 14th, 2007 in Game Development

The change weapon system is horrible, I mean, If I was being chased around by a butcher weilding 2 butcher knives, I don't have the time to use 1 hand to hold 'i' down, and use the other to click on the weapon.
You should keep the inventory display up, and have 'e' or 'q' (Or something close to WASD, or the arrow keys) as the 'change' weapon button.

Also the walking was a tad choppy~.

Other than that, it's pretty good.

Response to: Flash Cs3 Review/overview Posted May 14th, 2007 in Game Development

As far as I can tell (By messing around with it)...

1. The most annoying change is the fact that the bar that is supposed to be at the top of the timeline (Scene, Workspace, Zoom percentage...~) is now at the bottom of the time line.

2. Yes the filters lag ALOT less, useful if you're a filter whore~ (About 10% of what they did in Flash 8, the only time it should lag if you're alpha-ing and filtering an object at the same time)

3. The rest of the programs that come in the whole CS3 package (Dreamweaver, Photoshop~) Aren't that different compared to their last versions, unless I completely missed something.

Response to: A Simple Question? Posted May 13th, 2007 in Game Development

Depends, if you call it a 'tribute' and end up making it craptacular, then that's offensive, either that or you'll get flammed somewhat.

Response to: AS3 Cursor Chaser? Posted May 13th, 2007 in Game Development

Doesn't it tell you if it doesn't work? (As in error report)
But if it doesn't, then it means that it's doing something, but just not what you want it to do.

I'd prefer a Eurovision based Dalek joke. Would you have also blammed this ?

Probably not, since it is a full story (Sort of~).

Response to: The Un-offical Flash Preview Thread Posted May 13th, 2007 in Game Development

Perhaps get a different joke? Unless you're restricted to a Dalek based joke~
And the guy is just being tweened in, at least tween him in behind something so that the viewer doesn't know if he's walking or floating there.
And the art needs some work too, even if you just added limbs, it's more like... shading, lighting effects and the characters are rather horrid looking, but that's probably because of the lack of shading etc.

If I saw that in the portal under judgement, I'd probably have to blam it~...

Yeah, Do you want it exactly like that, or the sybol-ised?
eg; √Monkey = π ?

Say, Is Forkie in this?, Cause I dunno whether to add his Bio to the... Bio's.

Response to: Tablet-o Posted May 10th, 2007 in Game Development

Tablets will make your drawings more accurate, but that depends on how well you can draw things with pen and paper.
3D stuff? You can do that with lines and mouse.

Wait, What?, You're a Newgrounds user, and you don't know who Adam Phillips is? He's commonly known as the best animator on Newgrounds.

Uh, how WOULDN'T you tween words? Just tween it the way you would tween anything else...

Response to: madness/bunnykill tutorial? Posted May 5th, 2007 in Game Development

Trust me, If it were tweened, it wouldn't look as good as it is. MOST of Madness is FBF'ed, the other times, when someone is falling or moving in a straight line, he'll use tween and motion guide.

Response to: Boulavard of Broken Songs Collab Posted May 5th, 2007 in Game Development

I'll be sending you the menu/credits in a bit. (2 days probably, I don't think anyone else is giving their bio's)

*I think*
Krinkles was actually expecting to stop at 4, but since he had such a huge fan base, he continued. And the general purpose of Consternation is that Hank isn't god-like, he actually gets shot/hit a couple of times in that episode.

Response to: how many hours Posted May 4th, 2007 in Game Development

I got front page with an animation that took 6 months. But that was with school, So it would've been something like 3-4, assuming you don't have school or a job.

Response to: Text Question Posted May 4th, 2007 in Where is / How to?

This should be in the 'flash' section.

Look up masking. But I'm sure you can't be bothered, So I'll type it up;

Make 2 layers, On the top one, use the text tool, write the text and press 'Ctrl+b' twice.
On the bottom layer, make the shine move as you want it.
Right click on the top layer and select 'Mask'

Finished.
