Create any shape, eg; a square or a circle>
Press F8>
Select 'Button'>

Afterwards, you'll have to apply action script to it, google it.

This forum would've been more awkward, had you not put the 'LOL' in there. It would be full of 'Omg darx!, what happened?' and etc...

Anyway, I don't think there are any parts left, Tem said it should've been done last month~.

Response to: Searching for game-creation crew Posted May 28th, 2007 in Game Development

So you're going to be giving orders to make a game, and then take the credit?
- What are you going to do?
- You part, generally, as you're the 'head' of this project, should be one of the most significant.

Response to: basic AS rule question Posted May 27th, 2007 in Game Development

Uh, I don't know what a handler is, but why would it need one?, if you placed it on a frame, the script is basic enough to be followed, it doesn't need to be any more simplified than that.

Response to: Flash Question--> Important/strange Posted May 27th, 2007 in Game Development

- Set the music properties to Stream.
-If you are using scenes, put all the sound into a movie clip.
-Web browsers tend to play flash slower than normal.

Response to: Flash work area size Posted May 27th, 2007 in Game Development

What the hell... If anything (In my opinion, but I've never made a platformer before...) shrink everything so that it fits into around 500px, then script vCam to follow the character, which shrunk, making the vCam show everything as if it were normal size.

Response to: Where does this sfx come from? Posted May 26th, 2007 in Game Development

My main concern is WHAT am I looking FOR? Giving me a site is like telling me to use Google, without the key words...

Response to: Where does this sfx come from? Posted May 26th, 2007 in Game Development

I actually thought beyond that and decompiled the .swf completely, only to find that he had already recorded the entire thing into one file -.-"

Response to: you blammed my movie Posted May 26th, 2007 in Game Development

I'm confused, is this the part where we're supposed to go "OMFG PWNZORED!" ?

Response to: uhmm Posted May 26th, 2007 in Game Development

This should be in Wi/Ht.

Click under your name, 'View Profile'.

Yes, I've tried google, but it's hard to find a sound when you don't even konw where it's from.

The sound used in this flash, the part where the 3 asian symbols come up. The sound is used throughout the whole movie, and is mentioned at the credits, 'Sfx from FindSounds', but that's way too broad.

Anyone?

Response to: Beta Testers Wanted For Game! Ninja Posted May 26th, 2007 in Game Development

Everything was choppy, even the rain. If you want opinions, just look at the score are reviews.

BZZZZT! Incorrect!
A script without animation would be a story, or a stage play... but other than that, it would just be a story.

Response to: Importing Sounds? Posted May 25th, 2007 in Game Development

How can the flash file even play the sound if it isn't even imported -_-".

A way would be to import it into a program like Audacity and convert it to a different file type, eg; .wav.
That doesn't work all the time though...
And stop typing your words starting with caps, even when they're in mid sentence.

Response to: Downloadable Flash Games? Posted May 25th, 2007 in Game Development

There aren't. And even if there were, you'd have to have a program able to play .swf files...

I'm gonna goto an animation festival, some creative chick will see my creative-animation, and after I win an award she'll be all over me like 14 year olds are in love with Adam Phillips.

I think chicks dig creative-free-spirit artists. Do they? Call John Lennon and ask him, then let me know.

The irony of that is that many chicks don't dig guys that spend superfluous amounts of time at a computer...
Just saying, don't kill me, I know you have a bigger post count than I do~

Uh... Whut? either you're in the wrong thread, or you're assuming that even though we're 36 pages old, we haven't got the actual song for the collab.

Response to: Looking 4 help Posted May 21st, 2007 in Game Development

My hand and mouse drawing ability are equal, so it all depends on whether he's better at what.

Also, another point would be to type more 'professional' perhaps, then people will at least take you seriously.
And also from your profile, you're either 13, or under, judging from your typing~

I advise you to mess around with flash 'till you get the hand of it, then build your way up, not many people will just let someone who just started with Flash join them...

Gee, sounds fun...

Oh yeah, the other thing I you might need to know, is that I generally fail every subject at school (60% or lower), Flash is the ONLY thing that I'm good at... So might as well try to get a job with it.

You could always carry the SAFlashPlayer (Stand Alone) in the:
'Flash Folder' > Players

And are you serious about using a floppy disk? Those are so old my computer doesn't even have a floppy drive (PC)~
And yeah, it can only hold 1.44Mb, The most you'll get with the least quality .avi would only run for a minute at most.

Response to: AS3: Quality Posted May 21st, 2007 in Game Development

I think he means the AS3 equivilant of the AS2:
_quality = "autohigh"

Response to: Boulavard of Broken Songs Collab Posted May 21st, 2007 in Game Development

I'll have the credits/menu in your inbox within the hour, I'll probably change the credits, cause the whole 'scrolling' thing doesn't work well in 2007...

but if you really need it, you could just put your whole movie into amovieclip and scale it untill it's a best fit.

I think s/he means a full flash website. Where if it were 1600 x 1050, it would ridiculously large on a 1024 x 768

Response to: Resizing an .swf Posted May 20th, 2007 in Game Development

Easiest way would be going to;
File > Publish Settings > HTML > Dimensions > Percent.

Response to: Young people are good flash makers Posted May 20th, 2007 in Game Development

Although for younger people, school gets in the way. Or highschool if you want to be specific, I don't think primary schools cause that much hassle, but in the later years of highschool, your parents and teachers go into a wild craze about your grades, especially if you spend most of your time by the computer with Flash open.

Response to: Looking For A Permanent Voice Actor Posted May 20th, 2007 in Game Development

What I think everyone's wondering is:
What types of voices are you guys looking for? High ones, low ones, annoyed ones, angry ones... etc.

The alternative would be to go to this site and set up an audition thread, there's at least 50 regular voice actors on that site.

Response to: Boulavard of Broken Songs Collab Posted May 20th, 2007 in Game Development

Not really =\. The last person I saw (alive) to call it 9 got flamed 3 pages long he did...
