That type of game would be called a Point N' Click game.
I've tried looking for tutorials, and couldn't find any. But it generally consist of buttons, and variables. Also Inventory tutorials might help you if you intend there to be items in your game.

Duhhhhh

That isn't 'slang', It's shitacular spelling. And if you live in London, you should be able to speak and spell English just fine.

And you're supposed to click the link, which is a website, then download it from there. The link he put up isn't a direct link to the .rar file.

Depends if they want to be credited that way.

Response to: Flash So Far: Blam Or Save? Posted August 21st, 2007 in Game Development

I'd probably blam it. Just because the voice is annoying.
And I noticed the font at the end was just cut and edited. Here's a link to the font file you can download.

Well here's another picture relating to an upcoming Flash series called Revulsion - Out in somewhere in 2008.
This is a redesign of a picture I've drawn. Just making it look alot more professional. This is a W.I.P, so I'll be updating from time to time, probably when I've gotten a significant amount done.

Response to: Deleting flashes? Posted August 20th, 2007 in Game Development

Click here.
(It's in your account options, then go to 'Portal Submissions'.)

Then select your flash, then under 'Upload .swf file' will be a 'delete' button in red. Click that I assume.

and to the guys who are blocking the threads, we just want to make this collab for madness day!
theres no harm in a little competition!

It's against the Collab Rules.
9- Did you make sure there isnt a collab similar to yours already running?

Response to: GoreFest [Collab] Posted August 19th, 2007 in Game Development

Well it is your collab, you can do whatever you want with it, seeing as how no one's actually joined yet, so you won't be dissapointing anyone.

Just something to remember though, not everyone will be animating in sticks.

Then, Go have lunch or something.

Basically, It's supposed to take a damn while, depending on the size of the file you're importing.
When something says 'Not responding',It doesn't necessary mean that you have to close it.

Response to: Need help with a flash Posted August 18th, 2007 in Game Development

I don't know the 'destroy one' but I'll give it a shot. This is how I'd do it.

1. Make a button and give it the code, which I'm guessing is:
on (release) {
_root.score=1;
//destroy object here
}
2. Off stage, make a movieclip. In that movieclip, leave the first frame blank with a stop(); code, and put the sound on the 2nd blank keyframe one.
3. Set the sound to Stream, and on the last frame that the music ends, put a keyframe and put the code
gotoAndStop(1);.
4. Give the movieclip an instance name, say 'sound'.
5. On the button, add the code:
sound.gotoAndPlay(2);

That's probably the long way around though. Just so you know. But the most basic. Sort of.

Response to: editing lag in flash, slowdown! Posted August 18th, 2007 in Game Development

Well... You really shouldn't have any problem with the editing, unless the .fla is over 20mb - which then makes it normal to lag like hell.

Saving and compressing refreshes the size memory, which means if you deleted a few songs out of the library, and then saved it, it would still be the same size as it was without the songs. Saving+Compressing makes it what it should be.

You should go get a BA of 3, and then come back and make your own collab.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, if you're using a lot of space on you computer, it'll help to clean it out, and make it around 15% empty. That might make your computer as a whole run faster as well.

Response to: editing lag in flash, slowdown! Posted August 18th, 2007 in Game Development

Splitting into scenes won't do anything. And how much RAM do you have? + What version of Flash are you using?
Go to your library and click that icon with the 3 lines and the arrow and go to 'Select Un-used Items'. Then delete them (Assuming that you won't be needing them in future).
Then go to File > Save and Compact.
It might help, there are also programs that let you alter the usage of RAM throughout your computer, I just googled searched, and a list came up.

Response to: Flash 8 Pro! Posted August 18th, 2007 in Game Development

It depends what you're comparing it too. -_-"

Response to: Flash 8 Pro! Posted August 18th, 2007 in Game Development

What exactly are you comparing it to? I'm assuming that when you said 'Better than the other Flash providers', you meant the other free programs.
Flash IS Flash, so it would have to be the best of the best.

I don't see how the background being tween bigger makes it 3D...

Response to: bitmap smoke/fog fx Posted August 15th, 2007 in Game Development

The best way I could imagine would be with Photoshop, Filters > Render > Clouds.
Then save it, import it into flash, then put it into a movieclip or a graphic and alpha it...
I don't think you could have parts more transparent than others, unless it's a .gif, or CS3 imported.

Response to: How To Make Music Stop... !!! Posted August 15th, 2007 in Game Development

The play button should probably look like :
on(release){
play();
}

So, then you'd add it in the middle, like so :
on(release){
stopAllSounds();
play();
}

If you haven't read it already, read this. Just some guidelines to follow if you didn't already know them.

To put a collab together, get people to send you their .fla's. Then copy the frames from the .fla and paste them one after the other in another .fla.

Response to: can some one please... Posted August 14th, 2007 in Where is / How to?

Yes, it will. It'll work in any image editing software. just go File > Save as, then change the extension to .gif or whatever you want it to be.
