when you glue them, you don't create a full clip where you can fade in and out. youcreate a group of separate parts

first off, you are in the audio part editor. lol. exit out of that and go the the main project window.

secondly, click the plus sign on the far left bottom corner of your channel you want to automate. this will bring down an automation line. click the "r". then use that to create volume fades. draw in your volume automations as dots.
