Besides that, her right hand looks unfinished and off, and her right shoulder looks a little strange, too.

Haha I really didn't notice the unfinshed things, nice catch, as far as perspective, when it comes to real artistic techniques such as perspective I'm quite amateur and I think this is one of my few attempts at getting it right. I'll work on that!

Yeah, anatomy in general is another problem for me (surprise surprise) I've been thinking of referencing things for a while til I can truly understand the human form, is that a good idea? Or do you know a better way?

Thanks for the critique! I really need help haha

I'd say for beginning work it's pretty good, I dunno if you care about accuracy but the way you portray the character in terms of light is kinda wrong, they'd be much more of a silhouette with light reflecting or overtaking the edges of the silhouette, I don't exactly get the background but it is pretty darn good.

Background for a drawing I drew for my friend's birthday, being able to draw sure does save money on gifts ;D

Actually it is, to be completely serious and technical it is considered a dwarf planet now, as opposed to being a major planet because it is not gravitationally dominant by comparison of it's three "moons" which are also considered dwarf planets.

So, you're wrong ;D

Wow thanks, and yeah, I've pretty much been dedicating all my free time (used to be drawing time) to practicing, we've got about 24 songs, since we became a band about this time last year, but only 8 or so are recorded which we do ourselves in the garage.

Here's a drawing I did for our song Bounty which is gonna be put up onto our facebook page by the end of next week.

The Planet Pluto needs your help Posted October 21st, 2010 in Art

I'm trying to bring up the e-buzz surrounding my band The Planet Pluto, and I'm asking you all to go to our facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Planet -Pluto/10150099254300398?ref=ts

While there listen to our music and draw something based on the songs, or using us (the members of the band) as characters in a drawing.

I'll credit the drawing and upload it onto our various pages, with links to your pages. Help me out, yeah? ;D

I will be somewhat selective as to quality control, so please try your best.

We'll only be displaying your art on our Facebook page and our Myspace, as well as possibly using them in a gallery for all the animated music videos we'll be releasing in the coming months as well (I'll message you here notifying the release of the animations as we are only doing two concurrently at the moment).

Where you can find our music
Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/theplanetplutomus ic
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Planet -Pluto/10150099254300398?ref=ts
Newgrounds: http://theplanetpluto.newgrounds.com/

If this isn't allowed, sorry for misreading the rules.

The picture included is one I did for our song Corso. And I'd expect better than it, please or your best.

Any questions, just lay 'em down in this thread.

Is it alright if I post a poem I'm workin on here?

If yes, then:

A.I.

Hard times accosted me
assembly lines
and rust coloured lies
hadn't been programmed to dream
besides for this
if all I had
was borrowed and a sham
I could wish for this
but being at your feet
I know, I'll be wishing for a long time
spurious dreams let me sleep
it would be the first time
contrive technology
if it was up to me
I'd think
I'd touch
I'd feel
but it's not in the program

Yeah, also the way your stroks look seem like you only move your hand. Try moving your whole arm when you draw, it helps make straighter lines and rounder shapes. A little trick I learned is to look at the place where you want the line to end and draw to that point, it helps me make straighter lines.

I think if you just look at some pictures and maybe recreate them, notice some common "measurements" with people's body parts, you can usually do this with the head.

I like your style and it's awesome you are trying to improve

I wanna rename mine like "Knoc on Wood" or "Knocturne on the lights" or some kind of pun because puns make me warm inside, like I'm in a microwave.

I've always had love for TV Heads....I even wrote a song about them once.

I also really enjoy the bird tattoo. It departs from the usual and I think it will bring an interesting composition to the skin it's on.

The bear you used to call "Kuma"...very nice. I don't think it looks like a Radiohead guy copy at all...your bear is better.

FInally...the Totoro plush.
I have no idea who he is or what he's from, but the fact that you made that by hand is nothing short of astounding to me.
It looks as professional as anything you'd see in a high-dollar toy store.
If you ever do more of these, be sure to post them.
Keep it up, you're definitely going places.

Wow, so many accolades! Actually I'm planning on doing a plush of that bear and of Pierrot, eventually I'll breach into doing some fan plush of Newgrouonds characters

Post up the song?

Here's what Totoro is supposed to look like, it's from a movie called My Neighbor Totoro and personally I think that movie sucks but the doll was for my friend haha
